Vitor Feverani's three-year deal with the Celtics is worth $6 million, a source told Y! Sports. — Marc J. Spears (@SpearsNBAYahoo) July 20, 2013 With Feverani set to be signed for 3 years, the Celtics are going to have to make a decision on which other centers they want to keep around for the rebuild. The first decision will likely be Shavlik Randolph, who is on a non-guaranteed 1.1 million dollar contract as that contract will become guaranteed on August 1. Randolph is probably the best rebounder on the team at present, but Danny may look at upside in deciding who to keep and who to cut. Another huge question is Fab Melo. He shows flashes after his first season, spent mostly with the Maine Red Claws. We know that he started playing basketball late and so is behind other centers in his development, but there is that glimmer of talent that we see that may make him worth keeping around. Melo may be spending another year in Maine or Danny may throw him into the mix with the parent team, or he could just decide that he's not willing to wait for the glimmer to work into a glow and cut him. At this point, Fab is a big question mark. Danny bought a second round pick to draft Colton Iverson. He showed some good things in summer league and could be the banger/enforcer that the Celtics have been missing since Danny traded Perk. There have been rumors that the Celtics could stash Iverson in Europe for a season but nothing official. I don't see Danny spending Wyc's money to get a second round pick only to cut him so one way or another, Iverson should be in the Celtics future picture. Kelly Olynyk was a revelation in Summer League. He's definitely going to be one of the Celtics building blocks. One question is whether he will fit in as a center or power forward. Danny has said that he pictures Olynyk as a power forward, but the Celtics already have a very good power forward in Jared Sullinger. So that needs to be worked out. Sully doesn't have the size to play center. Olynyk doesn't have the bulk. So, we shall see how that plays out. We also have Kris Humphries to figure into the mix. Word is that Danny is trying to trade Wallace and Humphries and hopefully he will have success. I really don't like Humphries and I have a feeling that neither does Rondo, no matter what he has to say since they are teammates. Humphries just doesn't fit the Celtics mold and we have 2 other players who should be in front of him as power forwards to build for the future. There are a lot of questions to be answered on this roster. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. (On a personal note, after my third stay in the hospital recently with congestive heart failure, I'm back on my feet and hopefully can post on a regular basis again.) [Discuss on CG Forums!]
