PLAYERS: Luol Deng
TEAMS: Chicago Bulls

Via Gamedayr:

The Chicago Bulls have dug deeper than an oil rig during the 2013 NBA playoffs. Never was that more evident than Monday night’s Game 1 win over the Miami Heat.

Nate Robinson poured in 27 points, hitting clutch shot after clutch shot, lifting Chicago to a 93-86 victory.

Star small forward Luol Deng, who is battling a potential case of viral meningitis, had to take in Nate Rob’s All-Star-caliber performance from a hospital bed. Not even the distance, however, could keep Deng from celebrating with his teammates.

Shortly after the Bulls’ upset victory, Deng took to Twitter and Instagram, posting this tweet and photo. He sent a simple message, “So proud of my team man, this bed might be good luck after all.”

The Bulls could have easily rolled over and called it quits after the loss of Deng and superstar Derrick Rose, as well as several other injuries and ailments the team is dealing with. They haven’t, though, and that is something to be truly proud of.
