When the Toronto Raptors offered Alan Anderson a ten-day contract, he couldn’t say yes fast enough.  Anderson, who played collegiately at Michigan State was once an undrafted free agent signee by the Charlotte Bobcats.  He played with Charlotte and in the NBA D-League from 2005-2007 before bouncing around leagues overseas faster than a pogo stick on speed. He played in Italy in 2007-2008, Russia in 2008, Croatia in 2008-2009, Israel in 2009-2010, back to the D-League in 2010, to Spain in 2010-2011, to China in 2011 and back to the D-League earlier this year before signing with Toronto. Obviously playing in the NBA offers perks upon perks when traveling on the road.  Some players may have to endure the heckling of opposing fans, but as your parents said, “names will never hurt you.”  Names won’t hurt you, but lighters, padlocks and toilet piping could.  Say what?! Anderson told the National Post reminisced about the days when he played for his Croatian team when they visited Serbia....
