PLAYERS: Jeff Green
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
Jeff Green has been polarizing player for many Celtics fans. Some love him; love the potential, and the flashes of greatness. Some hate him simply because he was the piece we got back for Perkins, and others can’t stand him, think he’s overrated, not that good etc. Coming out of college he was hearing much of the same stuff, even from the NBA coaching circle. Before last night’s game, Nets coach P.J. Carlesimo reminisced about his initial thoughts on Green’s talents, saying: “I thought, honestly, coming out of Georgetown, he was not a very good player,” the Nets coach said before the game. “But his rookie year, he got excellent coaching, and ever since then he’s really taken off.” If anyone remembers back, Carlesimo was the coach of the Seattle Sonics during Jeff’s rookie season in 2007-08. Besides P.J.’S initial opinion (who knows if it was serious or it was just some light hearted ribbing) and tooting his own horn, he had some great things to say about our Iron Man: “He’s

Your Morning Dump… Where Jeff Green’s elbow is still attached

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.  Jeff Green joked that his left elbow is “still attached” after an awkward landing forced him from Friday’s game against the Miami Heat early in the fourth quarter and downplayed the severity of the injury...

Jeff Green Shares Bond With P.J. Carlesimo Despite Tough Love From First NBA Coach

BOSTON — Jeff Green and P.J. Carlesimo were not fast friends. When Green came into the NBA as a rookie out of Georgetown in 2007, he found a coach with a reputation for being tough on players, who had an infamous run-in with a player a decade earlier and who was skeptical of Green’s ability to succeed in the NBA. Yet as Green was going through his rehabilitation from heart surgery...

Jeff Green’s Elbow Injury Underscores Why Celtics Are Smart to Play It Safe As End of Season Nears

Somewhere in the deepest parts of their psyches, the Celtics harbor some distant and dreamy hope of making this postseason one to remember. Sure, they are missing an All-Star point guard and a young forward who never seemed to play like a rookie, and their two best players are closing in on the twilights of their careers. The Celtics have done just enough to give themselves hope...

At least Jeff Green is "fine"

Things got pretty crazy last night. The undermanned Celtics took on the fully stocked Heat and lost and Kobe Bryant tore his achilles and is done for the year. Lost in the shuffle was Jeff Green and his elbow injury! Turns out he's going to be A OK. Jeff Green was injured after falling on his elbow after a dunk, he later left the game and didn't return. Still, Green brushed...

Recap: Could’ve been a lot worse

Laugh at me all you want, but I think tonight could’ve been much worse. Headed into this game, without KG & Pierce, Celtics fans thought that things might get really ugly. Well, despite a Heat 2nd Q for the ages, the C’s actually gave Miami a run for their money tonight. However. the Heat win 109-101. Boston came out swinging early, and behind a hot start from Jeff Green...

3 reasons why this Celtics vs Heat game tonight might still be worth watching

What will Green do for an encore? Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett aren't going to play in Miami this evening.  Dwyane Wade is, but LeBron and Chris Bosh are still up in the air.  Neither team cares about winning this game; at all.  The playoffs are a week away, and the rest of the regular season is basically meaningless.  Especially for the Heat, who have already locked up...

Boston Celtics fall to Miami Heat in final regular season meeting 109-101

After outscoring Miami 27-17 in the first quarter, the daring duo of Jordan Crawford and Jeff Green wasn’t enough and the Celtics lost to the Heat 109-101. Surprisingly Miami’s Big Three all played, but with Pierce and Garnett taking the night off this game was predictably meaningless. Lets run through the bullet points:Jeff Green was the Celtics best player tonight, finishing...

Balanced Offense Leads Nets By The C's

The Nets are clearly trying to will themselves into clinching the 4th seed in the East while the Celtics struggle to keep their place near the bottom. In whats already been a rough stretch for the green team only got worse when the division rivals came and swept the Celtics on the road for the season. The Nets won with a balanced scoring attack and gutted the Celtics defense. Three...

Comments from the Other Side - Heat 4/12

I really do hate the cHeat and their bandwagon fans.   I don't know how they can feel good about a win when they have to have help from the refs to get it.   At least the Heat just doubled the Celtics free throws.  The Lakers TRIPLED the Warriors' free throws in that game.  I can almost guarantee that if the Heat fall on hard times,  most of these Heat "fans"...

Celtics fall to Miami: 109-101

The Boston Celtics lost to the defending-champion Heat Friday night to give up the season series 3 to 1. Despite some strong individual performances, The Celtics struggled as a team, particularly on the defensive end. Jeff Green scored 25 points on 10-17 shooting with 8 rebounds, Brandon Bass had 14 points and 8 rebounds, and Jordan Crawford went for 20 points. LeBron James and Chris...

Celtics-Heat Live: Avery Bradley, Jeff Green Looks to Step Up With Stars’ Status Uncertain

8 a.m. ET: Whoever plays will play, and the game will most likely be thrilling and chilling. We can only hope. With Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh’s status all unclear, the Celtics and Heat will face off in Miami in a watered-down version of one of the NBA’s best rivalries. The Heat did not seem to miss a beat Wednesday without their stars...

Heat Top Depleted Celtics 109-101

The final Celtics Heat installment of the season lacked many storylines on Friday night. Coming in Doc Rivers announced the team would be without their veteran leaders Pierce and Garnett as they would both be sidelined with ankle left ankle injuries. As the Celtics look to prepare for the playoffs the team face two final back to back series. With a depleted roster Doc looked...

Rooting for the Utah Jazz

Okay, before you Celtics' fans chew me out, hear me out. Our NBA season has been over for a couple weeks now as we have been preparing for match-up with the New York Knicks. I wrote an article on March 18th about how the Boston Celtics had a chance to win the Atlantic Division Title. Hours after that, the Celtics lost a heart breaker to the Miami Heat and the Knicks ended up...
