PLAYERS: Brook Lopez
TEAMS: Brooklyn Nets
D7
The Brooklyn Nets got a boost last night with the return of Brook Lopez.  Lopez had missed the team's previous seven games due to a sprained foot.  However, he returned last night to help the Nets.  But it wasn't enough.  The Nets fell in Lopez's return xx-xx. Lopez scored nine points and pulled down four boards.  He was not quite as productive as his normal self which was to be expected after the layoff he went through.  However, Lopez should be able to slide back into the fold in no time.  He has been with the Nets for the past five seasons. The Nets are having a nice season in their first year since moving out of New Jersey.  They are 12-10 on the season.  They were red-hot early in the year, but during Lopez's absence, the team went 2-5.Lopez has averaged 17.5 points in his career and 7.5 rebounds per game.  So far this season, Lopez is averaging 18.5 points per game.  The Nets will need more production than they got from him last night if they want to continue their success this season. NBA Ref Tries to Block Kris Humphries’ Free Throw Attempt

It’s not uncommon for NBA refs to halt the free throw shooting process of a player for something like a substitution or even a last-second timeout. Some refs prefer the player not shoot the free throw at all, while other refs don’t seem to give a s**t one way or the other. Well, Courtney Kirkland gave a s**t. I mean, he REALLY, REALLY didn’t want Kris Humphries to take a free...

POTD 12/15/12: Joakim Noah on Brook Lopez

Gerald Wallace blocked most of Chicago’s dunk attempts on Saturday, but Joakim Noah did manage to get one down over Brook Lopez.  This means that both Lopez twins have appeared on the posterized list this season, which comes as a surprise to exactly no one… Honorable mention to the Clippers.  They didn’t directly posterize anyone, but they dunked all over the Bucks. Dunk...

Went to see the Nets play at Barclays Center on Friday night. This is pretty much my one NBA game that I go to every four years. The Nets winning on a Joe Johnson buzzer beater in double overtime pretty much ensured that this would be the greatest basketball game I've seen live, ever. Shows you how many basketball games I've been to. What struck me going there, on Friday...
