A week after NBA Commissioner David Stern killed a deal that would send Chris Paul to the Lakers in a 3-team deal, the Hornets have worked out a deal to send the disgruntled star to the LA Clippers. The Clippers will send guard Eric Gordon, forward Al-Farouq Aminu, center Chris Kaman and a first-round draft choice to the Hornets; the Clippers may be receiving 2 second round draft picks in 2015.
The deal is still pending the approval of the commissioner, as the Hornets are owned by the NBA.
Paul, 26, averaged almost 19 points and 10 assists per game last season. The assists will continue to come, as he’ll feed the ball to new teammate Blake Griffin.
The Hornets got 3 solid players, with Gordon being the key to the deal. Gordon averaged just over 22 points per game last season. He’s a restricted free agent after the season, but it’s expected that he’d be interested in an extension.

Chris Paul is headed to Los Angeles for real this time _ to the Clippers, not the Lakers.
The Clippers have agreed to pick up the All-Star point guard from New Orleans in a blockbuster deal that includes sending Eric Gordon to the Hornets.
The Clippers have acquired 26-year old point guard Chris Paul and two future 2nd round picks from the Hornets for 22-year old shooting guard Eric Gordon, 29-year old center Chris Kaman, 21-year old small forward Al-Farouq Aminu and the Timberwolves’ first round pick in 2012. Chris Paul played in 80 games (all starts) for the Hornets last year and he averaged 36.0 minutes, 15...
The latest twist in the never-ending Chris Paul trade saga is that the Clippers are now in a better position to swap for the superstar point guard, thanks to the Chauncey Billups acquisition. Per CBS Sports: “By claiming Billups for about $2 million, the Clippers were able to solve the dilemma of not having another point guard on the roster — Mo Williams likely slides into the...
