Celtics Locker:
The Celtics shot 51.3% from the floor yesterday and they outrebounded the Knicks 41-31, so they won….right? Wrong, the Knicks outscored them 27-17 in the 4th quarter to snatch a win from the Celtics. The Celtics left everything they had on the floor yesterday. Rajon Rondo led the way for the Celtics in this game with 31 points, 5 rebounds, 13 assists and 5 steals as he had a monster game. Ray Allen had a solid game with 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists yesterday. Brandon Bass was a beast off the bench for the Celtics in this game. He had 20 points, 11 rebounds and 1 steal in only 28 minutes on the court. Bass also shot a sizzling 9 of 13 from the floor in this game. Kevin Garnett pitched in with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 blocked shot. The Celtics are now 0-1 on the season.

Will Brandon Bass Have the Biggest Impact of Any Celtics Offseason Addition?
The trade that sent Glen Davis to Orlando was not popular among some Celtics fans, who had grown fond of Big Baby's unconventional game and attitude, but it was hard to argue with the immediate results. Brandon Bass, whom the Celtics received in return for Davis, was arguably Boston's best frontcourt player in the season opener in New York. The seventh-year forward had 20...
Celtics’ Rondo makes strong opening point
Rajon Rondo has heard his name bandied about in trade rumors for the past few weeks. When he took the floor against the Knicks yesterday, the point guard played like he wanted to show the Celtics why they would be better off keeping him.Rondo was spectacular, almost single-handedly carrying...
Leftover thoughts from Celtics-Knicks
Brandon BossNo, that wasn’t a typo. Brandon Bass = Brandon Boss. He had 20 points and 11 rebounds yesterday while shooting 9-13. But the stats alone don’t tell the story. I’m confident when Boss shoots jumpers. I’m happy when he gets aggressive (which is almost all the time). I’m thrilled that he has the athleticism to finish in traffic and not get his...

Rondo Phone Home
by Matt Domino / @PuddlesofMyself
Rajon Rondo is an alien. I mean that in the best way possible. He has freakishly large hands, abnormally long arms and moves around the basketball court getting his shot at angles that most “human” players can’t get to. Watching Rajon Rondo play basketball is a joy.

Rajon Rondo's All-Around Effort Not Enough to Top Carmelo Anthony, Knicks (Video)
Few Celtics have opened a season with the sort of bang Rajon Rondo made on Sunday. The Celtics point guard finished with a final line of 31 points, 13 assists and five steals, but Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks were just barely better at Madison Square Garden. The loss should not overshadow Rondo's excellent all-around performance, NESN Insider Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe...

Siri previews the 2011-12 Celtics season
Chuck and I are notoriously lazy. If there's a way for us to get around doing something, we'll find it.
Which brings us to our season preview. This year, instead of thinking about stuff and... ughh... writing them down, we decided to whip our our iPhones and just ask Siri what she thought about the season. Amazingly, she had different answers for Chuck and for...

Your Morning Dump... Where Celtics-Heat is a legit rivalry... or is it?
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
Now, Celtics-Heat? Yeah, that's got the "R" word written all over it.

The NBA will Live Forever
TNT just killed it with this short video before the start of the 2011-2012 NBA regular season.
What’s not to like. You get Derrick Rose fist bumping with Jordan. Paul Pierce guarding Jerry West. Bird kicking it out to Ray Allen. Kudos.
And who doesn’t want to see another NBA big head commercial. Especially one where everyone sings “So Happy Together.”
Celtics aware time is short
Despite Paul Pierce’s avowals that he is recruiting Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to return, the fact remains that the Celtics are on the brink of losing half of the Big Four next year.
