Preseason game 5… Melo’s return to Cuse   3 Thoughts immediately after watching this game:   1.  I was disappointed with the Knicks in the first half of this game tonight. They started off with a good open to the game, but after that the Knicks offense was stagnate. Guys were taking bad shots and poor ball movement mixed with absent transition defense lead to what was the worst half of basketball I have seen the Knicks play this preseason. 2. Defensively the Knicks need to guard in transition and defend ball screens much better than they have shown so far. Tonight the 76ers had too many transition buckets and open three pointers it frustrated the Knicks to take bad shots offensively. 3. I understand that the Knicks are without Amare and JR, who are two of their better offensive players, but other guys have to be able to step up and put the ball in the basket. When Melo is the only offensive threat on the floor, it makes the Knicks very easy to guard, and that showed tonigh...

Barkley: Kidd and Camby are 92-year-old players

On Tuesday, Charles Barkley continued his rant against the New York Knicks saying the Brooklyn Nets are “the best team in New York.” According to ESPN, Barkley ripped  the New York Knicks for being old.“If it was 2000, I would make the New York Knicks the favorite to win the NBA championship,” Barkley said.Barkley was speaking on a conference call with fellow TNT analysts...

Knicks fall to Sixers, 98-90

In order to avoid falling asleep during this game, I took notes. I’ll just write on here the notes I took and then I’ll elaborate on them.“Ronnie Brewer airball” Yeah that was disgusting.“Steve ‘Swaggy P’ Novak” Novak was playing exactly like Nick Young of the Sixers tonight. He took a gross three off a dribble, but then hit one off the dribble a few possessions later...

Sixers end Melo’s 17-0 mark at Carrier Dome

It all started here. The Carrier Dome is where Carmelo Anthony began his run to an NCAA title with Syracuse in 2002-03, with a 17-0 mark at home.Against the Sixers, Anthony couldn’t help the team without Stoudemire get a win and extend his personal winning streak to 18.Carmelo Anthony winced at the thought.“My streak is over,” he lamented.Instead the Knicks’ loss Monday against...

Should Amare Stoudemire Be On The Second Unit?

The  New York Knicks need Stoudemire to be healthy for them to be a serious contender this year, but where is the best place for him in the lineup?  Not to only get the best out of him as a player, but also to help the Knicks other key pieces. I love statistics and numbers don’t lie, they don’t capture everything but they definitely paint a picture based on facts. I was...

Knicks: Carmelo Anthony Assumes Power Forward Position

With Stoudemire out, Carmelo Anthony now likely assumes the power forward position against the Brooklyn Nets, and beyond. Stoudemire will be nursing the rupture of a cyst in his left knee reportedly for the next 2-3 weeks. It is the same knee that sidelined Stoudemire for majority of the 2005-06 season with Phoenix. Anthony who commented simply, “. . .I played it last year”....

New York Knicks’ DISHING AND…. MORE DISHING

As the 1st quarter of the Knicks/Celtics pre-season game wound down Saturday, Mike Breen said, “It sounds simple: Ball Movement. But, it is really is the key to success on the offensive end”. Mike could not have been more right. The teams you see win rings are the ones that move the ball. Elite teams like Boston, Miami, and Chicago have unselfish players. Since the Melo trade...

Amar’e Stoudemire’s Popliteal Cyst

Amar’e Stoudemire, New York Knicks Center-Forward, may actually be fortunate to have suffered a ruptured popliteal cyst this week, though it will keep him out of action for at least two to three weeks. What is more worrisome than this new wrinkle is whether any of the knee diagnoses Stoudemire has dealt with in the past are more of an issue than the Knicks are aware of or are letting...

Knicks’ Amare Stoudemire to miss 2-3 weeks with knee injury

Amare just can’t seem to stay healthy.

Felton prepared to battle Brooklyn Nets

Well if Doc Rivers is teaching the Boston Celtics to hate the Miami Heat, it seems that Mike Woodson may be getting a message through to the Knicks to hate the Brooklyn Nets.   During an appearance on Anthony Donahue’s The Knicks Blog internet radio show, Felton was asked about the Knicks-Nets season opener on Nov. 1. After hearing about the comments made by Nets owner Mikhail...

Tyson Chandler leaves tonight’s game vs. Nets with a knee injury.

The New York Knicks had a little bit of a scare tonight as their best defensive player, Tyson Chandler was forced to leave Wednesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets with an apparent knee injury. The injury to Chandler occurred when he and Nets forward Gerald Wallace had collided with each other. Right after the collision, Chandler dropped to the ground immediately and began...

New Yor Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers: Preseason Preview

Knicks vs 76ers Pre Game: The Knicks are once again shorthanded.  Yes, we get to see the debut of Ronnie Brewer at the shooting guard position and yes, this will be Carmelo Anthony’s return to the Carrier Dome on the campus of Syracuse University. I, for one, do not want the major excuse for this season to become the fact that Carmelo and Amar’e have not had a full training...

The 1st nomination for the 2012 RCL Fantasy Basketball season IS….

Rasheed Wallace.  Yep, I dared team Ballin Like Smush to do it and he is now the proud owner of ‘Sheed for $1 (until waivers on Thursday kicks in at least).  This, in a way, shows the beauty of an auction.  You can start nominating the top guys like LeBron James or try to squeeze [...]
