The injuries keep coming for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Center Nikola Pekovic will miss a week to 10 days with a quad injury, according to Minnesota Star Tribune Wolves beat writer Kent Youngblood.
Greg Stiemsma should get the start (2.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 11.6 minutes). The second-year center proved to be a formidable shot blocker for the Boston Celtics last season. I'd also expect more run for Dante Cunningham (7.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and .5 blocks in 24.7 minutes), who was moved to the bench Thursday night.
Derrick Williams should also become a bigger part of the offense (9 points, 4.4 rebounds and .5 blocks in 18.9 minutes). The second-year forward joined the starting lineup Thursday night (10 points, seven rebounds, an assist, a steal and two blocks).
Pekovic joins Kevin Love, Brandon Roy, Chase Budinger, Alexey Sheved, and Josh Howard, among others, on the sidelines.
