Cleveland Sports 360:
Omri Casspi had a huge night helping the Cleveland Cavaliers to stay close as time was running out. But with the game on the line Casspi would have trouble in-bounding the ball and Detroit was able to come up with it. As Detroit ran the floor the Cavs Harangody was able to get the foul and the Pistons would go to the line. Unfortunately the Cavs would lose the game tonight 90-89.
Casspi had a fine game this evening he just could get the job done when it counted. You can attribute some of that to the shortened per-season. The two new guys Thompson and Irving played Ok tonight. Irving is going to have to get better from the floor. He is only hitting about 28% of his shots. But it is per-season and he is a rookie, I am sure he will get better.
Once again the Cleveland Cavaliers lost the game they controlled until the last 12.3 seconds. Detroit wins this one 90-89

It’s only been seven quarters of high-level pick-up basketball, but rookie point guard Kyrie Irving is already giving Cleveland a reason to be excited about the upcoming compressed NBA season.
During Friday night’s preseason bout in front of approximately 27 Pistons fans in Auburn Hills, Michigan, Irving came off of the bench for the Wine and Gold, but finished the contest with...
I know it is only the per-season for Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers, but I am liking what I see so far with the NBA’s number one overall pick. Irving needs to work on his shots from the floor but his free throws have been fantastic. Irving has an .875 average from the strip. That is .735 better than LeBron James at this point. James never was the best free throw shooter...

“As a rookie when you first go to the Garden, everybody’s telling you how magical it is,” Davis said yesterday after signing with the Knicks. “This is a place I...
CLEVELAND (AP) -- Austin Daye's two free throws with 3.1 seconds left gave the Detroit Pistons a 90-89 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night.
Daye, who finished with 19 points, was fouled driving to the basket after the Pistons stole an inbounds pass with Cleveland holding an 89-88 lead.
Luke Harangody missed a jumper for Cleveland at the buzzer.

Once veteran point guard Baron Davis cleared waivers after being amnestied by the Cleveland Cavaliers, Davis was free to sign with any team he chooses. Davis has apparently chosen to continue his NBA career in the Big Apple, having signed a one-year deal with the New York Knicks. Adding Davis to their roster gives the [...]
The excitement surrounding Baron Davis’s arrival — on a one-year, $1.4 million contract — was necessarily muted, every proclamation qualified by an “if” or a “when” or an “I don’t know.”
The Knicks have officially inked Baron Davis to a one-year deal for $2.5 million. That's pretty much all I'm willing to commit to as fairly solid information at this point. Oh yes, and the fact that he's 32 years old and has logged 167 missed missed during his 12-year NBA career. Beyond that, the rest depends on who you talk to...or what you might like to believe as is...
Here are notes and quotes from the Pistons' 90-89 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night in Cleveland:
It didn't take long for Baron Davis to join the Knicks but it may take a while for Davis to actually play for the Knicks.
In addition to possibly giving the Knicks a massive upgrade at point guard, Baron Davis could allow them to add a much-needed backup forward, as well.
Because the Knicks were able to sign Davis for the veteran's minimum of $1.4 million, they still can use their $2.5...
