RealGMThe Magic have hired Rob Hennigan as the franchise's new general manager.
Hennigan was most recently assistant GM with the Thunder and becomes the youngest GM in the NBA at the age of 30.
Hennigan graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism from Emerson College in 2004. He was named a Division III All-American and an Academic All-American as a senior and was the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons. Hennigan finished his career as the school’s all-time leading scorer.
Smart move by the Magic going with a young GM trained by the Thunder's Sam Presti. Hennigan is barely older than Theo Epstein was was when he took over the Red Sox, and he did pretty well for himself (at least the first few years). Never understand why teams often hire retread GM's. I'll be honest, I didn't even know that Emerson had a basketball team until a couple years ago when someone told me they played for Emerson. But the truth about being a GM is it does...
