The Orlando Magic have officially hired Jacque Vaughn as their new head coach, replacing Stan Van Gundy, according to Ken Berger of CBSSports.com.

Vaughn, who spent 12 seasons in the NBA retired in 2009 with the San Antonio Spurs. He won a championship with the Spurs in 2007 as a player. He also played 80 games with the Magic during the 2002-03 season. He spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the Spurs.

Vaughn, 37, becomes the 10th coach in team history and replaces Van Gundy, who was fired on May 21 with a 259-135 regular-season record and a 31-28 playoff record.

Shaquille O'Neal wasn't to happy with the hire, he posted this on Twitter: ''Orlando magic is about to hire jock Vaughn over mike Malone or Brian shaw are u kidding me, wow, good luck winning wit Dat team Dwite Howard.''

O'Neal is friends with both Shaw, Indiana's associate head coach, and Malone, Golden State's lead assistant.

Vaughn will have to begin his head coaching career dealing with a player that does not want to be on the team, and that is center Dwight Howard.

Good Luck Vaughn!
