‘Stand clear, I’m tweeting solely through mental energy.” Social media has become infinitely more cerebral with the news that NBA coaching legend Phil Jackson has joined the world of Twitter. And while his account has not been confirmed as of yet, nor has he tweeted anything, Mr. Phil Jackson (or the Zen Master, if you prefer) already has over 5,000 followers. Going with the handle, @PhilJackson11, the fact that the Twitter account does indeed belong to the real Phil Jackson was confirmed courtesy of the following tweet from his fiancée, Lakers executive vice president Jeanie Buss. Please welcome Phil Jackson to twitter @philjackson11 — Jeanie Buss (@JeanieBuss) March 27, 2013 As noted by The Big Lead, it most certainly warrants mentioning, in case you cannot see it very well, that Jeanie Buss’ Twitter avatar is a nude photo of her with two basketballs covering her breasts. Wow. Well, well, well. That’s certainly provocative. That aside, what makes Phil Jackson’s new Twitter account so awesome is his avatar, which highlights the 11 championship rings he acquired during his storied coaching career with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers. Awesome. The only way I could have 11 rings of any kind as my Twitter avatar is if I upgraded my value meal order at Burger King and took a photo of the side of onion rings. A link to the publisher page for his book entitled, 11 Rings, which bears the same image as his Twitter avatar, serves as the Twitter page’s linked website.
