Maurice Cheeks was an alright head coach his first go around posting a career record of 284-286 while with the Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trail Blazers in six full seasons as a Head Coach. Now he gets a second go at it as the Detroit Pistons have come to terms with Cheeks to make him the next Head Coach.
Over the last four seasons he has been an assistant for the Oklahoma City Thunder, many say he has been a vital key in the development of guard Russell Westbrook. Now he will tackle being the Head Coach for the Pistons, a job that could actually be more stressful then dealing with Westbrook’s tantrums.
