JaJuan Johnson has scored seven baskets in his young NBA career.  I’ve seen two of the seven, both of which were dunks… and fairly nasty ones at that.  One of the five that I haven’t seen was also a dunk,  so that means 42.8% of his scores (excluding freethrows) come on throw downs.  That’s a pretty solid ratio for a young forward.  Keep it up, JaJuan!

Be sure to pause at 11 seconds.  Avery Bradley looks like he’s just eaten a lemon.

Dwight Howard Bringing a Big Pacifier for Glen Davis, Who May Get Emotional During Return to TD Garden

Glen Davis will make his return to the TD Garden Monday night after being trading to the Orlando Magic for Brandon Bass this past offseason. Davis spent four seasons in Boston where he averaged 7.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game and played a role in helping Boston win the 2008 NBA championship. When Kendrick Perkins made his return to Boston earlier this month, the crowd greeted...

Knicks Trying to Make a Play for Dwight Howard

So the New York Knicks are interested in acquiring super-superstar Center Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic according to Stephen A Smith. The walking little man complex, Stephen, didn’t just tell the world, he screamed it on the hardest to listen to radio show on ESPN.  The Knicks would be willing to give up Tyson Chandler and Amare Stoudamire for Dwight Howard.  The Magic...

Jameer Nelson Blames Dwight Howard Saga for Struggles

Both Jameer Nelson and Orlando Magic GM Otis Smith placed some of the blame for Nelson’s struggles this season on Dwight Howard’s massive shoulders, which doesn’t seem like the most brilliant of tactics. Per the Orlando Sentinel: “Jameer Nelson admitted that Dwight Howard’s mention of playing with other point guards affected him. A slumping Nelson said Howard’s talking...

Jason Richardson Comes Off The Bench To Play Defense In The Middle Of A Play

Monday night during the Celtics vs. Magic game, Jason Richardson displayed a special type of defense. The Magic shooting guard was on the bench when he realized that the Magic only had 4 players on the floor. Richardson jumped onto the court, disrupted the play and returned to the bench after the whistle. The refs [...]

Video: Glen Davis welcomed back to Boston

As much crap as I've given Glen Davis (and continue to give him) he was an important part of some incredibly talented and very good Celtics teams. When his head was in the right place and he accepted his place on the team, Baby was one of the best role players in the NBA. His value off the bench was immeasurable at times and he was a serviceable spot starter. He did a lot of...

Quote of the Day: Dwight Howard zings Big Baby

Asked what Glen Davis brings to the Magic… “Food. Drinks. By the time he brings the food, there’s no food left. He usually eats it before he brings it to the table.” —Dwight Howard, talking about the former Celtic and his penchant for enjoying a good meal. A large good meal. From WEEI, via The…

Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis Unsure of His Role in Orlando

This should sound familiar to Celtics fans. “Big Baby” discussed the uncertainty (and, perhaps, frustration) with his new role in Orlando with the press following the Magic’s crushing loss in Boston a couple of nights ago. Per the Orlando Sentinel: “Glen Davis isn’t sure whether the Orlando Magic are a better fit for him than the Boston Celtics were. After the Magic fell...

Banged Up Celtics Shut Down Magic 87-56

They say that a wounded animal can be deadly in a fight and fans at the “New Garden” in Boston saw an example of that occur before their eyes on Monday night. The Celtics were hosting the Orlando Magic and they took the floor with two of their starters and a key reserve in street clothes due to injury. Point guard Rajon Rondo who had missed the last few games with a sprained...

Orlando Magic rebound from Boston loss to beat Pacers on the road

INDIANAPOLIS —On Monday night, the Orlando Magic didn't handle adversity well.

Shorthanded Boston Celtics Trick Orlando Magic, Win 87-56

Going into tonight’s game between the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic at the TD Garden, the odds were not in favor of the Celtics. The Magic came into the game with a record of 11-4, while the Celtics were at a disappointing 6-9. Add to that the news before the game that Ray Allen, Rajon [...]
