Who is Rajon Rondo?  Is he part of the Boston Celtics' future? When you look at him, you see a talent that has never been seen before. He brings his own way of doing things and doesn't take advice from anyone. He will tell you he that he is the best point guard in the league and you in turn will think he is full of himself.  To be in the league, you have to feel that way about your skills. Like any good numbers man, he knows the count, its debits and its ratio of the teams' production from his assists.  Would you have it any other way when there are nine new faces to give your attention to? The adjustment with the additions to the roster this year was painful to say the least, and Rondo resisted by making those new faces his last option on offense.  He force fed familiar faces and trust was hard to find in a system that had not adapted to reflect the talent surrounding him. Danny gave Doc Rivers more offensive weapons but he ran the same system. Since Rondo's i...

Explaining 12-4 without Rondo

Proving their potential. In this morning's Boston Globe Gary Washburn wrote a story about the Celtics playing with an increased level of urgency since Rajon Rondo's injury.  He shares some quotes from Doc Rivers, who gives a lot of credit to the return of Avery Bradley dramatically improving the team's defense.  But Rivers also seems somewhat confused and pleasantly...

Opposing Guards Have Asked Celtics Avery Bradley To Ease Up On Defense

Boston Celtics second year guard Avery Bradley is an absolute beast on defense and drives opposing guards crazy when they play against him. Bradley took a scorching Stephen Curry and hounded him into a miserable 6-22 shooting performance, right after Curry lit up the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden for 54 points. Bradley only has one goal when he takes the basketball court...

Celtics defeat 76ers 109-101: highlights and box score

Avery Bradley was the Boston Celtics' top scorer against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night with 22 points, leading the Celtics to a 109-101 victory and their 3rd straight win. Boston is now only 1 game behind Atlanta for the 6th seed in the East, and 1.5 games behind both Chicago and Brooklyn (#4 and #5, respectively). Highlights above, box score below. Boston Celtics...

Game Changer Unleashed

The Game Changer, Avery Bradley, had his best performance of the year last night as he registered season highs of 22 points (on 10-of-15 shooting), 7 rebounds and 5 assists in leading the C's to a convincing 109-101 road victory over the Sixers.  Not to mention AB's tenacious, hound-like D on Jrue Holiday (18 points on only 6-of-17 shooting) and the overall energy he pumped...

Avery Bradley Applies Defensive Mentality First, Acknowledges Offense Will Follow

Photo by Jesse D. Garrabrant/ Getty Images Avery Bradley has always been known to be a knack on the defensive end — whether it is on-ball defending or full-court rundown blocks — but Tuesday’s 22-point performance against the Philadelphia 76ers was a true testament to his demeanor. Last year in his rookie campaign, he wasn’t able to flourish mainly due to multiple shoulder...

Avery Bradley, Celtics Cannot Overlook Turnover Issues Regardless of Win Over Sixers

Avery Bradley broke out with 22 points while Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett each logged less than 30 minutes, so any criticism of the Celtics’ victory over the Sixers on Tuesday needs to be tempered with those three facts. Any time Doc Rivers‘ guys can earn a “W” without forcing their aging All-Stars to carry a heavy load — particularly on the first leg of a road back-to...

Comments from the Other Side - Sixers 3/5

Good road win for the Celtics.  The Sixers have had it rough with injuries this season.  Poor Sixers fans want to root for a loss for more ping pong balls but they hate the Celtics so much that they are torn about it. Great game by Bradley.   I've highlighted a few favorites.  What are yours?  All the teams are tanking right now. Very hard to make progress in draft order...

Celtics Must Balance Potential Matchup With Miami With Home-Court Advantage As Playoff Race Heats Up (Podcast)

After searching for a rhythm without Rajon Rondo, it appears that the Celtics have finally found it. The Green Team seems to have found their way after wandering for most of this season, stuck worrying about whether or not general manager Danny Ainge would blow it all up at the trade deadline. He didn’t, and the Celtics responded. With Jeff Green‘s dramatic game-winner still...

Celtics beat the Sixers 109-101, move a season high five games over .500

The Celtics entered tonight's game in Philadelphia in a very intriguing position in the Eastern Conference playoff race. While the Miami Heat are certainly out of reach, and the Pacers and Knicks are in great position to grab the #2 and 3 seeds - the Celtics suddenly found themselves just one game back in the loss column of the Bulls, Hawks, and Nets. So while they have been...

Underrated Stat of the Night - 76ers 3/5

Tonight, the Celtics continued their great play with a 109-101 victory over the Sixers. They didn't dominate as much as I thought they would, but I won't complain about this one. Going into it there was no guarantee that they would even win, so I'm happy. Avery Bradley was definitely the C's best player, with a team-high 22 points. The old guys Garnett and Pierce...

Celtics hold off feisty 76ers

Paul Pierce had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Avery Bradley scored 22 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a 109-101 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. Kevin Garnett scored 18 points to help the Celtics continued their push up the Eastern Conference standings. The Celtics entered in seventh, but were no more than two games behind the next three teams ahead in the...

Underrated Stat of the Night - Hawks 3/8

Tonight, the Celtics won a thriller over the Hawks in overtime, 107-102. In overtime, the Celtics made big shot after big shot to rally back from a four-point deficit. Pierce had a dominant performance tonight, leading the Celtics with 27 points including big jumpers late in regulation and a clutch, go-ahead three in overtime. Jason Terry also came up big as he scored the last five...

Green Envy: What 76er fans said - 3/5

The C’s pulled out an ugly 109-101 win over the 76ers, much to the happiness of the Sixer fans. Most of the fans were rooting for a loss to try and land some favorable Ping-Pong balls for the upcoming draft. The majority of comments were bashing Turner/Hawes and praising Moultrie and a lot of them were pretty witty. Continue on to check the misery of 6er Nation. Top Three: 1...
