Paul Pierce said his left big toe is fine; Doc says Ray Allen 60 percent to play Sun; #celtics give major kudos to impact of Josh Smith— gary washburn (@GwashNBAGlobe) April 27, 2012 I'm willing to bet that Ray Allen misses at least half of this series if not all of it. The Celtics are renowned for not giving the best information when it comes to injuries, so all we have to go on is that Allen has had a lot of time off now and still isn't better. Plus, it was revealed that he had bone spurs in his ankle and the last time that happened to him in Seattle, he was shut down for the rest of the year.

Ray Allen game-time decision in playoff opener, ‘feels good’

My Shaq senses are still tingling, but Ray Allen reportedly “feels good today” and “sounds cautiously optimistic” about his status for tonight’s playoff opener against the Atlanta Hawks. Celtics-Bucks pregame report: Missing Celtics down to Stiemsma, Allen

BOSTON — The Boston Celtics have been so struck by petty injuries at the tail end of this lockout season that Doc Rivers has a hard time keeping his healthy players straight. Paul Pierce Talking Retirement, Decision Should Ultimately Come Down to What He Wants Out of Final Years

Paul Pierce has been talking about retirement lately. It is only natural that a 15-year veteran, entering the final year of his contract with the only team he has ever played for, might be thinking about hanging up his shorts. Aren't we all supposed to begin planning for retirement from the moment we get our first job? Pierce may simply be planning ahead. Pierce certainly does...

Paul Pierce still contemplating retirement after this season

The thought of Paul Pierce leaving basketball after this season — a productive one by any measure — provides yours truly with a headache that feels like Jonathan Papelbon riverdanced on my temples, and eyes that resemble Niagara Falls. But Pierce recently, for the second time this season, called retirement an option when this season concludes. Ray Allen, Greg Stiemsma Do Not Participate in Celtics' Morning Shootaround Thursday

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Ray Allen stood under a basket in the Celtics' practice facility on Thursday, catching each ball shot by Mickael Pietrus as it thunked through the net. After draining a few shot in a row, Pietrus held his hand in the air as if on a follow-through. "Better than Ray Allen!" Pietrus exclaimed. For Thursday night's game against the Milwaukee Bucks...
