Found April 18, 2012 on Celtics Town:
Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo and Mickael Pietrus will all miss tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic, according to Doc Rivers. I’m currently covering the game from the TD Garden for CLNS Radio, so go check out my injury story there. The biggest takeaway is that Rondo and Pietrus’ injuries don’t seem to concern Rivers (though they could both miss Friday’s contest with the Atlanta Hawks), but Allen’s progression (or lack thereof) is starting to become troublesome. (CLNS Radio)When asked whether Allen made any progress today, Rivers responded, “None at all. That’s becoming, obviously, troublesome for us. I don’t think he’ll play Friday, we’ve already pretty much determined that as well. After that, we have three or four days [of rest], so maybe by the Miami game we can get him back.”Rivers said he hasn’t thought far enough ahead to be concerned about whether Allen will return by the playoff opener.“No, but there’s just concern that the ankle is not responding, and, you know, we need

Allen having 2nd thoughts on whether he wants to stay in Boston

Boston Globe It’s been a disappointing season for Allen, because privately, he feels somewhat slighted by an organization for which he developed a loyalty and trust - and his demeanor has changed over the past few weeks. In addition to being nearly traded, Allen was relegated to the bench by the emergence of Avery Bradley, a move that has made the Celtics more athletic and more...

Allen, Rondo, Pietrus likely out Friday; Doc Rivers admits Celtics traded and un-traded Ray Allen

Doc Rivers doesn’t much care about home court advantage. He would much rather get his troops healthy for the first round and beyond.“Listen, if you can get [home court advantage] it’s great,” he said. “But health [or] rest, I’m clearly going to go with health.”Rivers also confirmed Adrian Wojnarowski’s report that the Celtics told Ray Allen he was traded to the...

Reports indicate that the Boston Celtics almost traded to the two future Hall of Famers at the NBA's trade deadline.

Celtics G Rondo misses game with back injury

The Celtics are playing without Rajon Rondo after he hurt his back in Boston's game against New York the previous night. Rondo was injured when he fell hard to the floor in the third quarter of the 118-110 loss to the Knicks on Tuesday night. He finished the game and had 13 assists, extending his streak of games with at least 10 to 23. Coach Doc Rivers said Rondo probably would...

Rondo was hurt in Tuesday's loss to the New York Knicks when he crashed hard to the floor. Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Rondo would likely sit out Friday's game against Atlanta as well. Rondo has a streak of 23 consecutive games with double-digit assists after...

Report: Ray Allen to Play for Celtics Tuesday Against Knicks

Six days of rest may have been the charm for Ray Allen. The Celtics shooting guard, who missed the last four games with swelling in his right ankle, will be back in uniform Tuesday in New York, coach Doc Rivers told reporters Tuesday morning. Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe was the first to tweet the news. Allen has had nagging soreness in his ankle for the better part of a month...

Ray Allen has privately felt slighted by the Celtics over the past few weeks.

Celtics-Hawks Preview

If the Boston Celtics don't win in Atlanta on Friday night, they'll probably have to open the playoffs there next weekend. For that reason, this potential first-round preview appears crucial as the Celtics - without Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen again - try to sweep the regular-season series with the Hawks. Boston (37-26) clinched a fifth straight Atlantic Division title Wednesday...

Trading Ray Allen, Paul Pierce Would Have Been 'Scary' for Celtics Coach Doc Rivers (Video)

Telling a player he has been traded, only to call back a short time later to tell him he actually has not been traded after all, could be described a number of ways. Awkward. Uncomfortable. Possibly volatile. Doc Rivers had another word to describe a report that Ray Allen and Paul Pierce were nearly traded away in March, which Rivers confirmed prior to Wednesday's game against...

Rondo blows Tyson away

But when both Allen and Mickael Pietrus went down later in the month, Bradley kicked in the rotation doors, not only establishing himself as an essential player but taking over the starting shooting guard...

Celtics Work Some Magic, Clinch Division

In what might shock most people outside of Boston, especially after the Celtics went into the All-Star Break with a 15-17 record, the C’s clinched the Atlantic Division title tonight with a 102-98 win over the Orlando Magic. Going into the 2011/12 NBA season, it was generally accepted that the Carmelo Anthony-led New York Knicks would cruise to the division crown over a pretty...
