Led by Jeff Green and Jared Sullinger, the Celtics revamped second unit scored 44 points in today’s 97-91 exhibition loss to Fenerbahce Ulker. Let’s get the negatives out of the way. The Celtics played horrific pick-and-roll defense (especially in the 1st quarter) and committed 25 turnovers. Chalk it up to rust, jet lag, bad hotel food, whatever. Starting in place of Avery Bradley, Courtney Lee scored 7 points in 27 ineffective minutes. He committed 5 fouls in the first half. Lee did not start the second half. Green (16 points, 4 rebounds, 7-10 FG) and Sullinger (16 points, 8 reb, 7-11 FG) looked very comfortable. Green’s offense was quite diverse; feeds from Rondo, put-back slams, drives to the hoop and jumpers. Sullinger looked very crafty around the rim. I’ll leave the hyperbole to John:  If that’s what the C’s get from Green & Sullinger all year long, I’m parking a chair on the corner of Tremont & Boylston for a parade now The Celtics other big bench asset – Jason Terry ...

Your Morning Dump… Where Jared Sullinger is never in a hurry

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “That’s a great example, when you go into games, from our standpoint, we want to look at different guys, and we got a great look at him,” head coach Doc Rivers said of Sullinger afterward. “He was terrific...

Jeff Green asserting himself in camp

After a disappointing debut for the Celtics at the end of the 2010-2011 season, many were critical of the rather large contract the Celtics signed Jeff Green to this offseason. However, Doc Rivers remained confident in Jeff Green despite his struggles during his brief time with the Celtics:“Trying to do that on the run, with 25 games left, is nearly impossible,” Rivers said...

Jeff Green Shows Ability to Lead Second Unit and Other Impressions from Celtics' Loss in Istanbul

These Turkish teams are not to be taken lightly. Despite a warning from Dionte Christmas, an alumnus of the Turkish Basketball League, that Fenerbahce Ulker would be no pushover, the Celtics never seemed able to get in rhythm on Friday. Boston's first exhibition foe of the 2012-13 season controlled the pace of the game, got to the free throw line more effectively and protected...

Rondo, Darko, Sullinger stand out in win in Milan

The Celtics weren’t about to become the first NBA team to drop both games in an NBA Europe trip.  Rajon Rondo dominated the first quarter, the second unit pulled away in the second quarter, and then it was all a breeze from there in a 105-75 win. Here’s what stood out: Rondo, obviously, off the top.  He had a perfect first quarter, shooting 7-7, including his 1 three and two...

Rajon Rondo had 13 points and nine assists, while Jason Terry, one of a handful of new players on the roster...

We read previously that Rajon Rondo organized practices for the Celtics in LA and the guys played some football. Looks like some of that is carrying over to Turkey now. Check out the video above of Rondo throwing a touchdown pass to Jeff Green. Hopefully we will see some crazy court-long alley oops from Rondo to Green this season. Thanks to ThunWest from the shoutbox for sharing the video
