Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
The Red Claws were in action tonight as they hosted the Erie Bayhawks. The Red Claws didn't fare as well as their affiliate Celtics did as they lost to the Bayhawks 98-85. They were led by 19 points and 8 rebounds from DaJuan Summers. Scott VanderMeer filled in at center with Fab Melo still recuperating from the concussion and scored 9 points to go with 8 rebounds and 5 blocks.
Kris Joseph, back with the Red Claws once again, may have been suffering from jet lag, or maybe whiplash, as he played 21 minutes off the bench and finished with 7 points on 3-9 shooting with 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. The Red Claws will be back in action Saturday night as they host the Canton Charge at 7:00 PM ET. You can watch the game streamed live here, or check back on Celtics Green after the game for the video.

It took Fab Melo a grand total of six months on an NBA roster to be featured in a Deadspin article for his stupidity. And it’s probably surprising to many that it didn’t happen sooner.
When the news first came out that Syracuse’s former brilliant Brazilian was called up from the Celtics’ D-League team, it sounded encouraging. But it turns out Melo...
Celtics rookie Fab Melo suffered a concussion last weekend after bumping his head on the doorway in his Sioux Falls hotel room while the Maine Red Claws (Melo’s NBA Development League assignment) were in South Dakota for back-to-back games against the Skyforce.
Melo was seen by the Red Claws medical staff and did not play in the team’s Monday afternoon game. On Wednesday, the...

Boston Celtics rookie Fab Melo has had an interesting first season. It started with him breaking a folding chair during a rookie photo shoot. He then was sent down to the D-League where he was averaging a respectable 10.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.8 blocks. And just recently he had been called up to Boston.
But not to suit up for the Celtics. But to get proper treatment for a...

Fab Melo is a huge prospect, with raw talent. Celtics had him doing development with the Red Claws. But earlier this week Melo suffered a concussion….walking into a doorway.
Yup. Walked in a doorway in his hotel room down in South Dakota.
“I still have a little headache. Sometimes I can’t really focus on something for a long time, that’s it.” – Fab Melo
The Red Claws lost their second straight home game as they dropped this one to the Canton Charge 92-81. Center Fab Melo is still with the Celtics recovering from the concussion. Fellow Celtic Kris Joseph once again came off the bench to play 25 minutes and add 14 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block.
DaJuan Summers led the Red Claws with 23 points, 12 rebounds...
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Celtics waived Kris Joseph and Jarvis Varnado today. This came out of nowhere and has not been reported by any local media as of yet. Could mean something, could mean nothing. Either way, stay tuned to Red’s Army for any further news/updates.

The deadline for either waiving non-guaranteed contracts or making them guaranteed for the rest of the year is Monday at 5 pm. ESPN's Marc Stein tweeted today that the Celtics Kris Joseph and Jarvis Varnado were among the players waived today.
The fact that they waived Joseph comes as a surprise as Doc and Danny were both very high on his potential. He has spent the...
The Celtics opened up two roster spots on Sunday by waiving Kris Joseph and Jarvis Varnado, sparking speculation that the team could be clearing space to make a big-time trade.
While a blockbuster deal was not impossible, the Joseph and Varnado moves may have been mostly clerical in nature.

With the Celtics move to waive Kris Joseph and Jarvis Varnado, there has come a wave of speculation and rumors. Ben Rohrbach on WEEI Green Street gives possible reasons for waiving the two players ahead of the deadline to guarantee their contracts.

The Celtics have waived forwards Kris Joseph and Jarvis Varnado.
If the Celtics had just waived Jarvis Varnado, no one would have batted an eye. The fact that they waived Kris Joseph, a kid they were pretty high on over the summer… well… we’re batting eyes all over the joint.
Suddenly, the Celtics have gone from “we don’t want to pay guys guaranteed money to do nothing” to “…….. what the F are these guys up to?”….. and...
