Kurt Rambis has taken a creative approach in hiring former Sacramento Kings coach Reggie Theus and WNBA head coach Bill Lambier.
In my own personal opinion, this is a major upgrade for the Timberwolves' coaching staff.
Theus had moderate success in Sacramento, posting a 44-62 record before being fired.
Although Lambier has never coached "men," he did lead the Detroit Shock to three WNBA titles. And regardless of the gender, Minnesota now have someone that has a championship mentality.
The Timberwolves' coaching staff has almost always been a joke. Outside of some bright spots here and there—Flip Saunders and Kevin McHale—the Wolves have been ridiculed with dark spots like Randy Wittman.
Now with a very respectable coaching staff, and their point guards of the future in place with Jonny Flynn and possibly Ricky Rubio, one could conclude that players will be more reluctant to play Minnesota.
