Found June 22, 2013 on Project Spurs:
As Project Spurs reported, Partizan forward Davis Bertans suffered a right knee injury in a game versus Crvena Zvezda in the Serbian League Finals. It was a non-contact injury to his right knee and he was on the court in considerable pain.   An MRI was done and results were Bertans did sustain a tear his ACL in his right knee and he is now on his way to San Antonio to speak with the Spurs before having surgery to repair his injured ACL according to Slovenian site Kosrka.si. Just landed in Minneapolis... Few more hours and I'll be in San Antonio!!! #LongDay — DB (@DBertans_44) June 22, 2013 Obviously, the Spurs want to speak with their foreign asset before he under goes the procedure. They want to make sure he is going to receive the best treatment to ensure he will be back stronger than ever. Bertans will likely miss the Eurobasket tournament this summer for Latvia in Slovenia and could could miss the entire 2013-14 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Regular Season. This also ends any chance he could have played for the San Antonio Spurs at this summer's NBA Summer League. Bertans was drafted by the Pacers in the 2011 NBA draft but was traded to the San Antonio Spurs as part of the deal that sent Kawhi Leonard to the Spurs in exchange for George Hill. Check out the video of Bertans' injury.

Spurs championship gear commercial airs

Many of you know that championship apparel for the losing team of a championship game or series often ends up being sent to developing countries. But what about championship apparel commercials for the losing team? Until now, I've never seen one but below is a commercial the has aired multiple times on NBA TV this evening.     While I'd love to get the championship...

Thousands Of Fans Welcome Spurs Home At San Antonio Airport

The Spurs didn’t win the championship, but that didn’t stop thousands of their loyal fans from gathering at the San Antonio International Airport Friday morning to welcome home and congratulate their team on a very successful season.  Gregg Popovich addressed the crowd thanking them for their support: “You guys are the best that you do this when we lose. This is unbelievable...

Celebrate the Spurs for what they are

Amid a flood of regret, and a few tears, the question felt unseemly. Now is not the time to talk about the future of the San Antonio Spurs. Even if everyone is thinking it. The discuss and dissect the future of a franchise that's been on the last of its title legs for six years now almost robs the Spurs of this moment. This is a time to celebrate what they've done, not...

Duncan Offended By Retirement Question

Tim Duncan was asked if he may consider retiring following the San Antonio Spurs' disappointing Game 7 loss to the Miami Heat. “Can’t believe you’re asking that question,” he said. “It’s been five, six years you’re saying we’re too old. I’m not going to answer that.” Duncan was a First Team All-NBA selection and had a vintage performance in the NBA Finals...

Was last game the last of these San Antonio Spurs?

Tony Parker refused to consider it, though it can't be ruled out. Those last, agonizing moments of the NBA Finals may have been the last we see of these San Antonio Spurs. Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Parker have been together for more than a decade, through more than 100 postseason victories. They are proud winners who have endured some crushing defeats, but nothing ever...

Spurs Green denies partying with Heat after Finals loss

What do you do when your team suffers an agonizing defeat when a championship was within grasp? Well, if you're Danny Green, you go out to a Miami nightclub for a night of deafening loud music and mixed drinks. Unfortunately for Green, it also happened to be the same South Beach club that LeBron James and the Heat chose to celebrate their winning of the Larry O'Brien Trophy...

NBA TV runs commercial for San Antonio Spurs Championship Gear

I know that they make a commercial for each team to sell their championship apparel to their fans, but running both of them?  Everyone knows that the gear of the losing team gets sent off to a third world country, but apparently NBA TV didn’t pay closely attention enough to which ad they were supposed to be running.  I’m sure San Antonio Spurs fans would love towels and t-shirts...

NBA Finals Recap: San Antonio Spurs collapse but legacy remains

The San Antonio Spurs were “oh so close” to bringing home their fifth NBA title in 15 years.  When I say “oh so close,” I mean they were up five points, and they were 28 seconds away from likely reeling in the Larry O’Brien trophy (key word being likely.)  ”It isn’t over ’till it’s over” and “it isn’t over ’till the fat lady sings” are phrases that will...

Spurs have at least one run left

It has already started and given how close the San Antonio Spurs were to winning their fifth title, given the age of their stars and the growing powers in the Western Conference, I cannot say I completely blame anyone writing off the San Antonio Spurs. It makes sense. It is hard to imagine this Spurs team making this run again. But how much will next year's team look like this...

Video: Spurs on Game 7 loss

It was painful to watch as the San Antonio Spurs walked off the Heat home court in a Game 7 loss in the NBA Finals. It was the first time in the Spurs' history they lost in an NBA Finals. The Spurs spoke about the loss and needless to say, the pain of losing in basketball's grandest stage was evident on their faces. Tim Duncan: Coach Pop: Tony...

Tim Duncan drives motorized cart in Game 7 Taiwanese Animation Treatment (vid)

The folks who run NMA World Edition really do have their collective fingers on the pulse of American sports, so it should come as no surprise that they have created one of their patented Taiwanese Animation Treatment videos for Game 7 of the NBA Finals. And, as they are wont to do, NMA managed to [...]The post Tim Duncan drives motorized cart in Game 7 Taiwanese Animation Treatment...

Report: Spurs ‘in the mix’ for Greg Oden in free agency

Back in August 2012, Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio wrote about how an NBA GM said the San Antonio Spurs were frontrunners to land free agent center Greg Oden. Fast forward to June 2013, just a day after the Miami Heat captured back-to-back titles, and now Chris Tomasson of Fox Sports Florida is writing that the Spurs are in the mix of teams with the potential to sign Oden this...

LeBron James says Spurs' Green did not party with Heat

After capturing back-to-back NBA titles, the Miami Heat were celebrating in Miami when word got out San Antonio Spurs' Danny Green was out partying with members of the Heat. Considering Green and the Spurs were on the losing end, some rushed to judgment thinking Green was fraternizing with the enemy. Needless to say, it was much to do about nothing and Green took Twitter...
