With the season over and the draft still more than a month away, we're taking a look back and assessing the season that was. That's right - it's report card time! Third in the series - Jason Terry.  Jason Terry 2012-13 averages: 10.1 ppg, 2.5 apg, 2.0 rpg, 26.9 mpg, 43.4 FG%, 37.2 3PT%, 87.0% Yikes. Jet was brought in to replace Ray Allen’s perimeter shooting and provide scoring off the bench. Given Terry’s ability to create his own shot, it was widely believed that he might actually be an upgrade over Allen, whose open looks came almost exclusively off double and even triple screens. Terry’s ability to create his own opportunities would take pressure off Rondo, and more importantly, off the backup point guards and open up the Celtic offense. It all made such great sense on paper. But then the season started and the former Sixth Man of The Year, forced to make 24 starts due to the Celtics’ rash of injuries, never really settled into his bench role. Given that Terry avera...

The offseason is here for the Boston Celtics, and in just a couple of months, they will begin the process of putting next year’s team together.  We will take a look at the current Celtics and try to figure out what to do with each of them.  We continue today with Jared Sullinger. Red flag. Those two words might as well be tattooed onto Jared Sullinger’s forehead. The red flag...

Ford: With the 16th Pick, The Boston Celtics Pick Dennis Schroeder

As I posted earlier, there is a huge difference among mock drafts as to who the Celtics (and everyone else) are going to pick. Of the 38 mock drafts I checked out at the time, there were 17 different players projected as the Celtics pick at 16. With the lottery in the books and teams holding workouts and players moving up and down in scouts' opinions, things will more than...

It's been three and a half months since Jared Sullinger underwent season ending surgery for a lumbar disc issue in his back, and the soon to be 2nd year forward is progressing in his rehab. ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg caught up with Sully at a charity event, and among other things he discussed the notion that back troubles will continue to bother him. He says that's...

Your Morning Dump… Where Terrence Williams gives his side of the story

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Williams, 25, had driven into the parking lot with his son for what was described as a visitation exchange, and was approached by the boy’s mother and her boyfriend. That’s where the story diverges. According...

All NBA Teams Announced - No Celtics

The All NBA Teams have been announced and to no one's surprise, there are no Celtics on them. Also to no one's surprise, LeBron James and Kevin Durant led the voting. Paul Pierce received 24 votes. Kevin Garnett received 8 votes. Rajon Rondo received 1 vote. As I said, it isn't a big surprise. One thing I would add is that at this point in his career...

Here’s the write up on the 19-year-old Schroeder: Analysis: With Rajon Rondo‘s future up in the air, could the Celtics take the guy who many scouts compare to a young Rondo? Both are quick, long and have huge hands. Both play a frantic style of basketball and both...

Tyronn Lue is being groomed by the Celtics.  The 36 year-old former point guard has been tapped to coach their summer league team (pictured, above), and you can hardly cut to a shot of the bench without seeing Doc leaning back to talk to him about something. But it’s not just the Celtics who like what he’s got to offer. Boston assistant Ty Lue and Rio Grande head coach Nick...

The Celtics "could be looking to move up" in the draft

Trading up in the first round is not out of the question for the Celtics. The Celtics hold the 16th pick in the 2013 NBA draft, but they may look to deal that pick and a player or a future pick to get into the top 10. Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix seems to think Boston could be looking to improve their drafting position based on who they've interviewed. An aside on...

Photo by Winslow Townson/AP Doc Rivers will not manage the Brooklyn Nets. Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, who has long praised his head coach Doc Rivers, has denied the Brooklyn Nets access to speak with Rivers about the open head coaching position, according to Jackie MacMullan of ESPN. This shouldn’t come as a surprise after the Nets targeted Rivers as...
