Found March 14, 2012 on Red's Army:
Color me skeptical... but's out there. While Boston Celtics boss Danny Ainge has said Rajon Rondo will not be traded, he is still actively seeking offers for members of the Big Three. The Celtics offered Paul Pierce to Portland -- I'm not sure what they asked for in return -- but the Blazers were not interested because of the two years and $32 million remaining on Pierce's contract. First of all... this is Chris Broussard... so this entire thing could be wrong.  To paraphrase Stan Van Gundy yesterday, these guys have a great job.  They can be wrong 99% of the time and still have jobs.  Like most other deals, I'm not sure what would make sense in a Pierce-to-Portland trade.  Let's make the leap of faith and say Broussard is right... the Celtics probably asked for a ridiculous deal. Still, I can't find anything that make sense. About 16 hours to go until this BS ends for about a month or two.

Paul Pierce ridiculously professional regarding trade rumors

Paul Pierce told reporters today he doesn’t mind that his name was mentioned in seven million trade possibilities this week. He even would have been okay with being traded, so long as the deal helped the Celtics. (Paul Flannery Twitter)“If it was something that was going to better the Boston Celtics in the long run, I’d have been happy for them.”“They’ve done a lot...

Paul Pierce trade rumors: Danny Ainge offered Pierce to Portland Trail Blazers

When reporters spoke to the Boston Celtics before yesterday’s game against the Golden St. Warriors, Paul Pierce joked with them about still being in Boston as the trade deadline approached. Reporters thought he was kidding, and he probably was, but the comments might have had serious undertones.According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard (Insider), the Celtics offered Paul Pierce to...

NBA trade rumors: Ainge says ’50-50′ whether Celtics make a deal by NBA trade deadline

Danny Ainge said it’s ’50-50′ whether the Celtics make a deal by the trade deadline. But if they do make a deal, it might not be a blockbuster. (ESPN via WEEI)“I think it’s 50-50, but it may be a small deal,” he said in an interview Thursday morning on Boston sports radio station WEEI. “It may be not as exciting as people may expect. But we’re working hard, we...

Your Morning Dump... Where Pierce doesn't have Steve Nash-like control

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. But when I asked Pierce if he wanted to end his career as a Celtic, there wasn't much passion in his response. It's probably a cautionary reflex that comes with being in the NBA long enough to see every...

Boston Celtics stand pat as 3 PM trade deadline goes by

After all the rumors that constantly swirled around Celtics Nation over the past few months, the Boston Celtics were unable to pull of any sort of deal before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline. Ray Allen’s name was mentioned, team’s were interested in Paul Pierce but not interested enough to give up what the Celtics wanted in [...]

Celtics survive Clippers late, BOS: 94 LAC: 85

It was a back and forth game, but in the end the Celtics came out on top after a late run helped them seal the 94-85 victory. It was the Celtics second night of a back to back, and their second straight game in the Staples Center. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 25 points, Kevin Garnett added 21 points. Rajon Rondo had a double double with 12 points and 10 assists. Ray Allen was...

Danny Ainge On Rondo, Gasol Deal: "Wouldn't Even Consider That"

Ainge Explored Trades As Both Buyer, Seller

Danny Ainge worked on a variety of trade scenarios both big and small, but was unable to execute a deal.

Danny Ainge is pissing off other GMs

Keep up the good work, Danny. They're only going to love you if you are a push over.

Ray Allen still desired by several teams at NBA trade deadline

As Woj reports, the Celtics are listening to offers. And if they get one Danny Ainge feels comfortable signing off on, they’re going to take it. Nobody is safe from Ainge’s maneuvers, but the key is whether he finds a suitable trade. He knows that standing pat is good for the future too. Here’s what Doc Rivers had to say about the Celtics’ objectives as the NBA trade deadline...

What in the world is going on with Jermaine O’Neal?

Jermaine O’Neal re-aggravated a wrist injury on Feb. 20. That’s almost a month ago. Since then, there hasn’t been a single real update to his status except, “Well, there’s a chance he gets season-ending surgery, but he also might just get a cortisone shot, but really, nobody knows anything for certain.”There was a rumor yesterday, from the highly reputable Adrian...

Dwight Howard opting in for 2012-2013 season, according to report

Just admit it: a small part of you, perhaps even a sliver deep inside your subconscious, held out hope that Danny Ainge could somehow convince Dwight Howard to join the Boston Celtics this summer. Perhaps you even envisioned a starting lineup of Howard and the current core four, with Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce rejuvenated alongside the game’s best center and Rajon...

Just Us

Larry Bird is not walking through that door. Jeff Green is not walking through that door. Hell, Jermaine O'neal and Chris Wilcox are not either for the rest of this season. Chris Kaman? Nope, not him either. The point? There will be no saviors coming to Boston this season. (excuse the overused door references) Yes, Danny Ainge made calls and took calls to get help for the...
