The general consensus around the NBA is that Ray Allen will sign with Miami. “Barring a change, he’ll join the Heat,” said a league source.

I’m still skeptical. “General consensus” is based on nothing besides what everyone thinks will happen. And the source doesn’t tell you anything besides the scary possibility.
“Barring a change”?
Well, barring a change, I plan on joining the Celtics coaching staff and Chuck will be dating Adriana Lima.
See? It works with everything.
“Barring a change, Greg Oden plans to come back and have a fruitful 10-year NBA career”
“Barring a change, The New York Knicks plan to make competent, fiscally sound moves that will make them a contender”
“Barring a change, Kobe Bryant plans to become a facilitator next season, refusing to take 25 shots per game while ignoring his teammates for large stretches.”
I dunno, maybe Ray will join the Heat, but that would fly in the face of everything we’ve he

According to Mr. Alex Kennedy anyway. To be honest, who really knows? It is a little concerning that nearly all of the Ray Allen talk has been Miami Heat related.
If Allen did join...
Going forward, the Heat may look to add to their wing position to make it easier to have James play more minutes at one of big man spots. There are some veteran point guards like Nash, Miller or even Jason Kidd out there but the Heat likely have more of a need for a shooter. Adding Nash, for example, would create incredible star power but it would also require the Heat to potentially...

We’ve all witnessed the movie scene where the scorned lover runs off and his/her partner, normally after a moment of introspection, chases in pursuit. Rain normally pounds from the sky, for production value, and maybe the two lovers argue once they meet each other on the side of the road, or maybe at an airport, with an airplane awaiting to whisk the scorned lover away. They...
This NBA rumor started as Ray Allen just mentioning he has Miami Heat on his free agency short list, and over the past few weeks this has gained momentum. Now it seems the veteran and the Miami Heat have mutual interest in one another according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. According to multiple league sources, [...]
The Heat are currently on the top of the NBA universe, but the frightening thing for the rest of the NBA is that they could be getting significantly better over the offseason. According to a number of reports, Ray Allen is expected to sign with Miami at some point in the near future. In terms of places to close out his Hall of Fame career, Miami has to be the best possible scenario...
Now that the NBA draft is out of the way, Danny Ainge and the Celtics can turn their attention to locking up their free-agent veterans. The C's could have some competition when it comes to Ray Allen, though, as the Phoenix Suns have surfaced as serious contenders to pursue the veteran guard, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. This report comes on the heels of...
This has been building steam since the Celtics were eliminated in the Eastern Conference Finals and began as just a whisper that Miami was on Ray’s short list. However, reports are circulating that Ray is likely to join the 2012 NBA Champs and here is another one from Alex Kennedy of Hoops World: The [...]
Shortly after Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett first arrived in Boston, the Celtics took a preseason EuroTrip which was said to help them form a tight bond prior to a season that would eventually yield 66 regular-season wins and one NBA title. The Celtics also benefited that season from having three superstars very close to their absolute primes, a supporting cast that included the...
The real Stephen A. Smith (as opposed to the imposter from the other night) claims that sources have told him that Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen have a good chance of returning to Boston next season. Most of the previous talk has centered around Ray Allen potentially taking his talents to South Beach to play with the Miami Heat, but Stephen A. thinks otherwise.
The Miami Heat are expected to pursue Ray Allen in free agency and LeBron James began the recruitment process during the Draft.
Ray Allen’s free agency could mark the end of an era in Boston. When Ray joined the Celtics, it marked the first time since Dee Brown pumped up his Reeboks that Boston was excited about a Celtic’s players shoes. During his time with the C’s Ray dazzled fans with his amazing shooting skills and incredible Air Jordans. Celtics green when mixed with classic Jordan silhouettes was...
