Searching for a tenant to play in a proposed arena, the mayor of Virginia Beach, Va., said he recently met with representatives of an NBA team about moving their team his city. Mayor Will Sessions made the comments during a city council meeting Tuesday, but would neither name the team nor the officials he spoke with, according to the Sacramento Bee. Multiple news outlets in the Virginia Beach area reported the team was the Sacramento Kings, citing unnamed sources. Comcast-Spectacor is under discussions with the city council to build an arena in the Virginia Beach area. The Kings, who have not been able to get a new arena approved in the Sacramento area, have been tied to rumors of several potential new locations, including a proposed new arena in Seattle. A potential lease agreement between the franchise and Anaheim was reported in 2011. Sacramento mayor and former NBA star Kevin Johnson has worked diligently to keep the Kings in his city, but a proposed $391 million entert...

The Sacramento Kings-To-Virginia Beach Rumor Won’t Die

Back in August, the Sacramento Bee reported on a rumor that the Sacramento Kings were headed to Virginia Beach. Their source even went so far as to say an official deal would be announced between Kings owners Gavin and Joe Maloof, and the city of Virginia Beach. Obviously, that never happened (sources, right?). The blogosphere weighed in, mostly poo-pooing even a remote possibility...

Players' union to appeal Cousins' suspension

The NBA players' association is continuing its appeal on behalf of Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins even after he has served his suspension. The league suspended Cousins two games for confronting San Antonio announcer Sean Elliott in a ''hostile manner.'' The exchange followed the Spurs' 97-86 victory in Sacramento on Friday night. The union said...

Thoughts on DeMarcus' Cousins suspension

* This won't be anything special, but just some jotted thoughts in random order I suppose as they come to me. Numero uno: DeMarcus Cousins. This **** has to stop. Immediately. And, will it? Probably is the unfortunate answer. Cousins, if I had my druthers (and I don't naturally), would have gotten 30 games for this ********. This. Needs. To. End. * Cousins needs to grow...

DeMarcus Cousins suspended for confrontation with Spurs announcer Sean Elliott

In one of the weirder stories we've ever seen related to announcers, Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has been suspended two games by the NBA for a confrontation with Spurs analyst and former player Sean Elliott.  It all happened after the Spurs beat the Kings 97-86 Friday night.  During the 4th Quarter, Cousins apparently dared to talk some trash to Tim Duncan.  Elliott saw...

Kings' Smart discusses suspension with Cousins

The NBA may have suspended Sacramento Kings' DeMarcus Cousins two games for his post-game hostile exchange with San Antonio Spurs TV analyst Sean Elliott but that doesn't mean this learning experience for Cousins was over. Kings head coach Keith Smart spoke with his young forward about the incident and suspension and Smart let Cousins know to simply be smart. ...
