That didn't take long. Oh, wait ... yeah it did. After signing with the Texas Legend, the NBA D-League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks, back in January, the point guard has finally decided to show up to play with his new team. West will finally join the Legends on Monday, Yahoo! Sports reported Saturday. West last played in the NBA for the Dallas Mavericks last season, averaging 9.6 points and 3.2 assists per game. The Mavericks cut West during the preseason after the point guard was suspended twice for conduct detrimental to the team. West expressed a desire to get back in the NBA, but after no other team signed him, he signed with the Texas Legends for a chance to play his way back into the league. But, shortly after signing with Texas, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said that West had no chance of rejoining the Mavericks, no matter how well he played for their D-League affiliate. That is when things went sour again with West again and he never reported to the team. West was selected 24th overall in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. Over nine seasons in the NBA, West has averaged 9.7 points and 3.6 assists per game. As of Saturday morning, West had been added back to the roster on the team's official website. The Legends only have 13 games remaining on their schedule. The Legends are owned by Mavericks general manager Donnie Nelson.
