Memphis Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph could miss up to two months after an MRI revealed his knee injury is worse than initially believed, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reported Wednesday. Randolph, who averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds last season, underwent an MRI that revealed a slight tear in the medial collateral ligament in his right knee. Doctors determined, however, that the injury will not require surgery. The team had said previously that Randolph only suffered a bruised knee in Sunday night's 104-64 loss at Chicago. Randolph, 30, was hurt in the first quarter when Memphis guard O.J. Mayo fell on his knee. Randolph, an All-Star in 2010, did not return and missed Tuesday night's win over Sacramento. The Grizzlies, who made a surprising run in the playoffs last year behind Randolph, head into Wednesday night's matchup against Minnesota at 2-3. The team already suffered a key injury during the preseason when backup forward Darrell Arthur was lost for the season because of a torn Achilles. Looking to bolster their frontcourt, the Grizzlies agreed to a three-team deal Wednesday to acquire power forward Marreese Speights from Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Daily News reported. Speights, drafted 16th overall in 2008, has not seen any action yet this season for the 76ers. He averaged 5.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game last season. Philadelphia will receive two second-round picks in the deal, while Memphis will send guard Xavier Henry to New Orleans to complete the trade. Henry, drafted 12th overall by Memphis in 2010, has not played this season because of an ankle injury.
