According to a press release from the league and dropped by Forsberg at the worldwide leader, Rondo has ascended into the upper echelon of the Top 15 Most Popular NBA Jerseys. Rondo is #6 on the list and in true underdog status Pierce appears at #14. As a green-teamer who owns both a Rondo black and green alternate jersey and a Pierce St. Patty’s day jersey (my all-time fave) I was excited to see the Celts getting some love. I think Rondo’s star has risen across the league and country due to his coronation as the King of Dimes this season. Pierce’s jersey sales are behind the who’s who of the NBA, but still I was surprised to see him that high.
Celtics merchandise was also 5th popular overall behind the token fair-weather front running teams of Knicks, Heat, and Lakers. I also am a little surprised that the Celts and the Bulls are ahead of the Brooklyn Jay-Z’s and the Thunder on this list, as both of those teams are the new “sexy” pick for apparel. The NBA released its newest list of best-selling jerseys, and Rajon Rondo has moved further up the list. After cracking the top 10 last season, Rajon has moved in to the #6 spot.

Things got physical in Boston Wednesday night when Kris Humphries committed a hard foul on Kevin Garnett. In response to the foul, Rajon Rondo pushed Humphries which led to a NBA style shoving match.
Both Rondo and Humphries were ejected as was Gerald Wallace after receiving his 2nd technical foul of the night. Kevin Garnett also received a technical but remained in the game.
