ESPN's Chad Ford is speculating that Danny Ainge and the Celtics could make a run at out of favor Sacramento King Tyreke Evans. The Kings are a mess and Evans' style of play doesn't help things, and, again, his stock is so low, I'm not sure what the value will be. One team to watch is the Celtics -- Danny Ainge loved him before the draft. I'm not sure Boston has the assets to get a deal done, but I could see them trying to make something happen. Tyreke is a talent, but the biggest red flag here is that he's another 2 guard and the Celtics are a team full of 2 guards. Ainge was rumored to have tried to trade Rajon Rondo to move up to draft Evans a few years back, so Ford is correct to mention the Celtics as a possible suitor. Tyreke's best season was his rookie year, which is never a good sign (See Eric Montross). My guess is that the Kings would ask for Avery Bradley (which the Celtics shouldn't do) or Jared Sullinger (which would only make sense ...

While the Celtics work through their rotation issues, another piece was added to the mix today with Avery Bradley returning to practice. While it is still estimated that his return will be in early January, it does open up the discussion of minute distribution, specifically at shooting guard. The Celtics primary problem this year has been rebounding, much of which has stemmed from...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“We’re not sustaining defensive effort for four quarters, getting outworked,” Pierce said. “It’s pretty much every night. Right now we have no identity. I mean, that’s just simple and plain. We’re...
BOSTON — When someone thinks of Shaquille O’Neal and Tim Duncan, Jason Collins does not usually come to mind. Yet he has battled all of the great big men of his era over the years, digging in and giving fouls while knowing he is not the player who people paid to see.
Now in his 12th year as a pro, Collins is finally playing with one of those great big men, rather than against...

I read what everyone’s saying.
I’ve had public and private conversations with people who, despite what decades of history has taught us, are giving up on this team before Christmas.
And I’ve determined, once again, that I’ve got to be Mr. Happy Pants around here. So here we are… for what feels like the fifth year in a row… needing a pep talk.
Ok, here it is.

Sing it with me now people: “All we are saaayiiiiiing, is give Lee a chaaaance.”
Boston Celtics shooting guard Courtney Lee is a 27-year-old sharpshooter who can also finish at the rim, yet somehow, he’s lost minutes to Jason Terry and Leandro Barbosa.
Like teammate Jeff Green, Lee is a natural-born starter who’s played on the bench for the past few seasons and are worse...
BOSTON (AP) -- Paul Pierce scored 25 of his season-high 40 points in the second half, carrying the Boston Celtics to a 103-91 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
Pierce made 10 of 11 shots from the floor after halftime, hitting his first eight -- including his initial three 3-point attempts. He finished 13 of 16 from the field.
Rajon Rondo added 20 points and eight...

Paul Pierce and the Celtics believe they are lacking a defensive identity.
8 a.m. ET: There are three-game losing streaks, and then there is the type of three-game losing streak the Celtics bring with them back to Boston on Wednesday. The Celtics went winless on their road trip to Houston, San Antonio and Chicago, failing to crack 90 points in any game and letting all three opponents reach triple-digits in scoring. It was almost as ugly as those green-and...

Another game, another Celtics loss. It's not time to panic but I sure would love to see them get it together. Bulls fans display their usual Rondo hatred and there's the obligatory wheelchair mention. I've highlighted my favorites in bold. What are yours?
I don't know about tonight, but we will beat these dudes in the post season if we meet.
Both are raw talents. And both are on small market teams.
And unless you’re Kevin Durant, you wanna leave the team that drafted you and flourish somewhere else. Somewhere where the clubs are bangin and the and restaurants have 5 stars.
Well, Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans are going to be restricted free agents next season and it’s time their teams decided what they want to...
