DeMarcus Cousins drew headlines when he found himself at odds with former Sacramento Kings head coach Paul Westphal. However, since the dismissal of Westphal, Cousins has quieted his voice down and you have not heard a lot from him. Cousins is beginning to fit in well with head coach Keith Smart and is willing to stay with the Kings long-term, according to Chris Tomasson of Fox Sports Florida. “Absolutely, this is where I want to be,” Cousins said. “I’m loyal to the city. I’m loyal to my fans. I’m loyal to my team. I’m loyal to the organization.” Cousins is averaging 16.7 points per game and 11.3 rebounds per game and had his $3.8 million option picked up for next season and will probably pick up his $4.92 million option for the 2013-14 season as well. Sacramento's efforts to build a new arena for the Sacramento Kings have never been closer to becoming a reality. Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, NBA Commissioner David Stern and...

Fredette's rookie year comes with a learning curve

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TIM REYNOLDS AP Sports Writer For Sacramento rookie Jimmer Fredette, there's one aspect of the NBA life that's proving difficult to handle. It's not the intricate defenses, not the physicality, not even the demanding schedule, even though he confesses that he's gotten his hotel room number in one city confused with what it was the previous...

JJ Hickson Not Happy in Sacramento; Misses Cleveland

JJ Hickson was traded from the Cavs to the Kings last season, and things aren’t exactly working out for him in Sac-Town. He tells the Plain Dealer that he wouldn’t mind returning to Cleveland next year: “The former Cavalier forward was at The Q with his new team and sounded like a player who would rather be almost anywhere except Sacramento. Even Anaheim. Hickson...

LeBron broke out this questionable dance during game against Sacramento

With the Heat up late in the fourth quarter of Tuesday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings, Udonis Haslem had a nice put back slam on a Mike Miller missed three, which got the Miami bench all riled up, the most notable of which was LeBron James, who used the occasion to break out some of the weirdest dance moves ever showcased on a basketball floor. I’m pretty sure...

Kings steadiness outlasts Wizards down the stretch; Kings beat Wizards for the 1st time in 7 years in DC 115-107

This is going to be a bit disorganized so I'll just say these are the notes as I was watching the game after it was over. (Yes I knew the Kings won.) Some notes about the 4th quarter (fairly scattered as these are rough notes): Isaiah handoff to Chuck Hayes with 6:33 remaining in the 4th for a layup; this puts Kings up 5. After 2 Wiz 3's (one by Roger Mason & Jordan...

Team effort more than just talk in Kings' win

Walker MCT Isaiah Thomas is fired up in the fourth quarter, when he scored 10 of his 18 points. The rookie point guard has 78 points in his first four starts. Haraz N. Kings lose to Miami 120-108

In a loss that wasn't nearly as embarrassing as the final score might indicate, the Kings actually showed some positive things tonight. Tyreke Evans actually played like a NBA player (it's a nice change), Isaiah Thomas had a career night going off for 20 points in the 3rd quarter (a season high in a quarter for a Miami opponent) and 24 points for the game (a new career high...
