The Sacramento Kings have hired Denver executive Mike Bratz as assistant general manager.
The move Friday reunites Bratz with Pete D'Alessandro, who was introduced as Sacramento's general manager Monday. Bratz spent the past three years working alongside D'Alessandro with the Nuggets, most recently as the team's director of player personnel.
A member of Stanford's Hall of Fame, Bratz was drafted in the third round by Phoenix in 1977. He played for six teams over nine seasons, including for the Kings during the franchise's inaugural season in Sacramento in 1985-86.
Bratz also served as a Kings assistant coach for seven seasons, which included work as a scout and radio analyst. He has worked in various scouting and coaching roles for Utah, Cleveland, Washington, Milwaukee and the Los Angeles Clippers.
BEST OF MAXIM
DeMarcus Cousins reportedly wants a maximum contract extension from the Sacramento Kings.
Cousins is eligible for an extension this summer, and his agent, Dan Fegan, is angling for a max offer with the threat of a trade demand if a deal isn't reached.
Barring an agreement, Fegan has instructed Cousins not to speak on anything relating to the Kings team, management or ownership...
DOES IT FLOP?
Personally, I would totally roll around in a car signed by former NBA player Vlade Divac. Check out the below photos of a Chevy Camaro owned by a Sacramento Kings fan which had a Vlade signature on the side of the car: *** Old lady drives a Vlade Divac-Autographed Camaro [Deadspin]
Sacramento Kings’ new ownership wants to make DeMarcus Cousins an international superstar, but they’re likely going to have to dish out max money in order to do that. Cousins is eligible for an extension to his rookie contract this summer, and his agent, Dan Fegan, wants a max contract extension, threatening that his client will request a trade if a deal can’t be reached....
Andrew Wiggins wasted no time showing us why he was considered the best high school basketball player in the country. In his first appearance as a Jayhawk the rising freshman put down a monster dunk over Sacramento Kings center and former Jayhawk Cole Aldrich.
And the prize of the 2014 NBA draft lottery is…well that may be slightly premature, but there’s no question about Wiggins...
The Sacramento Kings will hire Mike Bratz as their assistant general manager.
Bratz worked with Pete D'Alessandro in the Denver Nuggets' organization.
Vlade Divac hasn’t played in the NBA since 2005, but that won’t stop this Sacramento Kings fan from rolling around in her Divac autographed Camaro, complete with a “VLADEE” California vanity license plate. Gone but not forgotten, I guess.
