Halloween isn’t just for the regular folks, athletes love dressing up in costumes for Halloween parties, too. Check out these pictures that Stephen Jackson of the San Antonio Spurs tweeted out on Saturday. Clearly, the San Antonio Spurs are the one NBA team where dressing up on Halloween appears to be mandatory.Check out these pictures that forward Stephen Jackson sent out on Twitter/Instagram accounts of many team members dressed up for a Halloween party:(Picture 1: DeJuan Blair and Stephen Jackson, Picture 2: Tiago Splitter and Stephen Jackson, and Picture 3: Team Shot) (Courtesy of NBA Mistress)
"The Spurs are old." "The window is shut." These are common one-line excuses I’ve been hearing since I started blogging on the Spurs in 2004 of why the Spurs aren’t real title contenders amongst younger, ESPN headline-grabbing title favorites. Sure, the Spurs haven’t won a title since 2005, but before last year’s lockout-shortened 66 game-season...
Halloween is next week and it seems many are looking forward to dressing up in their favorite costumes including San Antonio Spurs' Manu Ginobili and Stephen Jackson.
The two teammates dressed up as Zorro and The Joker and I got to say, their costumes look pretty cool. I just hope Jackson didn't show anyone the Joker's magic-pencil trick.
So what do you think...

San Antonio Spurs assistant coach, Brett Brown, has stepped down as head coach for Australia's men's basketball head coach according to the Brisbane Times.
Brown, citing he can no longer commit to another four years as head coach, guided the Boomers to the 2012 London games where the team would eventually lose to Team USA in the tournament. It was a successful run in...
After finishing the last two seasons with the number one seed in the Western Conference, the San Antonio Spurs are back for yet another season in which they are still considered a title contender.
The Spurs are bringing back a team that won 50 games in a lockout season, had three double-digit winning streaks, won 20 games in a row, and were two games away from playing in the...
Now that the NBA season is finally upon us, former San Antonio Spurs player Bruce Bowen and his bow ties are back. Bowen, an NBA analyst with ESPN, recently gave his top-five teams in the Western Conference and has San Antonio in his list.
Bowen points to the "Big 3" as the force behind the Spurs' upcoming season.
Ever wonder why NBA players choose the number they wear on their jersey? It can range from a large array of reason for for San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker, it was in honor of family.
TP chose to wear No. 9 to honor his godfather. Check out more of the meaning behind Parker choosing No. 9 in the video below at the 48 second point.
Manu Ginobili will miss the Spurs' regular season opener on Wednesday against the Hornets with back spasms.
Brett Brown is also the assistant coach of the San Antonio Spurs.
No you do not have to adjust your computer settings. What you are seeing is correct. It seems San Antonio Spurs' Manu Ginobili figured out a way to clone himself. Which should bode well for the team seeing they can rotate between the two to have one fresh and ready to go come time for the playoff push. Perhaps this explains why Manu seems rejuvenated each and every season....
The lack of size in the San Antonio Spurs' front court isn't a secret. Boris Diaw and DeJuan Blair are both undersized. Matt Bonner is a surprisingly good post defender (in addition to his obvious shooting prowess). Then there's Tiago Splitter. Tiago's really good, you guys. He can score in the low post, he's a great roll man, he can pass. He can rebound...
In my interview with Spurs Stephen Jackson, he mentioned that he and Thunder star Kevin Durant had collaborated on a song for his new album, “Jack of All Trades.” The song is called “Lonely at the top,” take a listen and if you are so inclined to add it to your music library, it’s [...]
Tim Duncan and Stephen Jackson each scored 16 points, and the San Antonio Spurs closed the preseason with a 100-85 victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
Tony Parker added 16 points and Kawhi Leonard 11 for San Antonio (4-3). Duncan was 7 for 13 from the field and had 13 rebounds in 28 minutes at the AT&T Center.
The Spurs open the regular season Oct. 31 at New...
