Now starting his fifth season in the NBA, Thabo Sefolosha is now regarded as one of the leagues premier defensive specialists. Following the 2009-10 season, Sefolosha was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team next to other 2nd team players such as Josh Smith and Tim Duncan. The only other guards with more votes for the team were Rajon Rondo, Kobe Bryant, and Dywane Wade. No matter how you look at it, being listed with these other great defenders is an incredible accomplishment.
Born in Switzerland, Sefolosha has played for the Swiss national team as well as professional teams in France and Italy before being drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers, and then quickly traded to the Chicago Bulls. He is the first Swiss basketball player drafted in the NBA. Over the last four years in the NBA, Thabo prefers to play tough on-ball defense, pass up shots to feed better shooters on his team, and keep his teammates and the crowd enthusiastic and into the game.
