Found October 18, 2012 on Celtics 24/7:
CELTIC fans are you ready for some BASKETBALL! With the NBA PRE-season being well underway, so are the critics and the naysayers. The Celtics PRE-season record is 1-4 after Tuesday nights loss to Brooklyn putting them in last place in the Atlantic Division. While many are optimistic for the 2012-13 NBA Celtic Season after last years heroic Eastern Conference/NBA Championship run,  many are already making negative PREdictions that the Celtics may not have what it takes to be championship competitive in the East…especially after losing Ray Allen to the uber talented Celtic arch-rival Miami Heat. Can I just say that it’s waaaay too early to even begin to speculate on how good the Celtics WILL BE after only five PRE-season games. With Summer roster changes, summer acquisitions and the latest player addition… there is no doubt a lot of work ahead of the Celtics.  But no different than any other team in the League, that’s why it’s called PRE-season. Even the Lakers are currently in last place in the Pacific and no one is panicking on the West Coast.  I bet if we looked a little closer at the facts, we can speculate on how competitive the Boston Celtics CAN BE in the East. FACT: The BIG three is still in tact… Garnett, Pierce & Rondo. FACT: the Celtics boast a roster of four future NBA Hall of Famers in Garnett, Pierce, Terry and Rondo. That alone should make them a contender for this years NBA Crown. FACT: Rondo, Terry, Lee & Barbosa make up one of the deepest back courts in the NBA. FACT: The Celtics core have always been veterans. This year’s Roster is made up of 8 seasoned NBA veterans (6+ yrs in league) with both regular season and play-off experience. FACT: 6-9 Rookie Forward Jared Sullinger has a HIGH learning curve. As he has taken the pre-season by storm averaging 10.8 ppg & 7.2 rpg. Possible Rookie of the Year honors? So say what you want, the FACTS don’t lie. This Celtic squad may be more competitive than you think. Only time will tell. In the meantime, sit back, relax and enjoy what’s left of the PRE-season. Boston Celtics / Zombie Slayers

Two things I love, and have been anticipating for months now, have finally started this past week:  Boston Celtics basketball and AMC’s phenomenal TV show Walking Dead.  Now I’m not sure if the show’s Executive Producer Glen Mazzara and NBA Commissioner David Stern collaborated to bring me this confluence of visual ecstasy, but whoever is [...]

Photo Gallery: Celtics vs Nets

Celtics fans finally got to see some great hoops last night as the C’s outlasted the Nets 115-85 in Brooklyn. One of the hot topics on Twitter was Jeff Green’s choice of kicks. He wore the Volt/Gorge Green Nike Hyperfuse 2012 seen in Jose3030′s pic above. If so inclined, you can cop a pair now on Eastbay. Enjoy some pics & GIFs from the game courtesy of Hoop China &...

This Drunk Dancing Boston Celtics Fan Is Pumped For The NBA Preseason

A.B. Most fans don’t get too excited about the preseason. I doubt this guy is one of them. While he’s polishing his Gino dance moves, the Celtics are trying to polish their game before heading into the regular season. Sporting a hardly excitable 1-3 record thus far, the Celtics starters have looked mediocre at best. But here’s a stat that even the Dancing with the Stars wannabe...

How Danny Ainge Won The Off-Season

The Celtics did not play a single game from June 9th when they came up a quarter short against the Heat in Game 7, until they traveled to Europe last week, but make no mistake, Danny Ainge won the off-season. Let’s flashback to late February for a moment, the C’s were floundering a few games below .500 and the trade deadline was quickly approaching. The Green looked old, slow...

It’s PRE-season, so it ain’t PREtty.

The Celtics redeemed themselves last night with a convincing 115 – 85 win over the Brooklyn Nets last night. The game was televised on TNT, so players were no doubt eager to put on a show for their national audience last night.  The Celtics jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and never really looked back. They showed glimpses of basketball brilliance, reminding us...

A Few of the Guys React to Their ESPN Mag Ranking

Earlier today ESPN the Mag released their opinion of where teams rank in the East and West, http://www.celticslife.com/2012/10/espn-mag-ranks-cs-4th-in-east.html. Many of you found it quite funny and some, not so funny. I myself try to find the humor in just about everything in life, so I decided to give my take on how some of the guys might react to their place in the rankings....

Celtics Live Blog: Rajon Rondo, C's Make First Visit to Brooklyn to Take on Nets

9 a.m. ET: Paul Pierce could not have looked much sharper than he did Tuesday, when the Celtics forward scored 29 points in a one-point loss to the Nets. Those same Nets host Pierce and the Celtics on Thursday at the newly minted Barclays Center. This is the sixth of eight preseason games for the Celtics, who are still a long way from knowing exactly what starting lineup and rotation...

Ray Allen puts his 11,000 sq ft Boston mansion on the market

Since Ray Allen jumped ship from the Boston Celtics to the warmer destination of the Miami Heat, he no longer has a use for the 11,000 square foot mansion he occupied the past 5 years. The 9 bedroom- 9.5. bathroom-Massachusetts-mansion also boasts a six-car garage and game room. The tag? The baller friendly price of [...]

Ray Allen is all about business, apparently

"Don't you know ANYTHING about money, Rasheed Wallace?"Note: Jay posted a calm, measured, thought-provoking response to Ray Allen’s comments earlier. You can read it here.Don’t know if you guys heard about this, but the Celtics were really mean to Ray Allen, so fans should be nice to him and boo the team. After all, this whole “I get to sign a contract with whoever...

On Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo and the way the media shapes our understanding of professional athletes

This story isn’t meant to be primarily about Ray Allen, though he will stand as the prominent example in an inner debate I’m having with regards to a media phenomenon. My theory: Our views of athletes are distorted by the amount of time (and amount of friendliness with which) they speak to the media. Because Allen spent 15 minutes before every game holding court with reporters...
