PORTLAND, Ore. -- The San Antonio Spurs ended a seven-game losing streak at the Rose Garden against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night. The Spurs trailed the Blazers through the first three quarters then pulled ahead in the fourth quarter only to see the Blazers come back. San Antonio finally pulled out the 112-109 win, before an announced sellout crowd of 20,447. "Portland did an awesome job of getting back into it, making plays, hitting big shots," said Spurs forward Tim Duncan. "But we sustained and it's a great win for us. A really great win for us. After going into the fourth quarter down 79-73, the Spurs opened the final period with a 14-0 run. "They got hot," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said. "They were playing small ball all night which opens up the court. When you play small it allows you to score points. It becomes a different type of game." The Spurs held onto the lead until 40 seconds remaining in the game when Bl...

Don’t Trade Meyers Leonard
After 6 games, the Portland Trail Blazers, 2-4, are off to a predictable start for this season of low expectations. What is also unsurprising is the ever present hum of the NBA rumor mill, or in this day in age, the tweets coming from Twitter. Thursday evening scout and featured writer for Crossover Chronicles, Wendell Maxey, @w_maxey, tweeted out

Video: De Colo goes through intense shooting drills
Right before he came to join the San Antonio Spurs, Nando De Colo did some final training with Franck Le Goff (assistant coach for French team JSF Nanterre) where Goff put De Colo through a battery of dribbling drills, and shooting drills.
In a previous video, Nando went though some dribbling routines where he showed off an impressive handle with the ball. In this latest video...
Bonner on the early stages of the NBA season
The San Antonio Spurs are sitting at 6-1, good enough for the second best record (percentage-wise) in the NBA. Once again, they’re shaking off all the haters who said they were too old, couldn’t compete with the Thunder or the Lakers and that their dynasty was finally headed down to the basement.
It’s definitely too early to start handing out championship rings, but the...
Early season MVP talks include Spurs' Parker
Talking about end of the season awards candidates after a week or two into the season can get pretty ridiculous, but you can't blame NBA bloggers and media members for being excited early on this season. Regardless of whether or not certain players will be playing as well toward the end of the season, or sustain throughout, there's no doubting some players have had an excellent...

POTD 11/9/12: DeMarcus Cousins on Danny Green
Danny Green makes a lot of money. According to ESPN, the Spurs will pay their starting shooting guard $3.5 million this season, mostly to make three-point baskets. A pretty sweet gig indeed, but that doesn’t mean it comes completely free of drawbacks. For example, in Friday’s game against the Kings, Green found himself the last line of defense between a charging DeMarcus...
