Spurs guard Manu Ginobili was again ruled out for Thursday night's game against Oklahoma City because of a back problem. He could make his season debut this weekend.
Ginobili didn't play in San Antonio's season-opening win Wednesday at New Orleans and missed half the preseason because of back problems. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Ginobili ''is really close'' but is taking precautions with his 35-year-old star who hasn't practiced for much of the past week.
Popovich said Ginobili could play Saturday against Utah.

Gregg Popovich has never been a big fan of speaking with reporters during games, and that clearly is not going to change in his 17th season as head coach of the San Antonio Spurs. On Wednesday night, TNT’s David Aldridge caught up with Popovich just before the fourth quarter of the Spurs game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Per usual, Pop was in no mood to talk.

After 15 years in the NBA and a year of retirement, former All-Star Antonio McDyess is reportedly looking to make a comeback. That’s right, the same Antonio McDyess that is 38 years old and spent his last two seasons averaging less than 6 points and 6 rebounds per game.
When San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker nailed the game-winning shot on the Oklahoma City Thunder last night, the players rushed him to celebrate the win. There were smiles all around, hugs being given and all around jubilation.
Kawhi Leonard, also rushed TP to congratulate his teammate, but in true Kawhi fashion, showed little emotion. This might be the biggest "grin"...
The San Antonio Spurs are looking for their best start to a season in five years, and now they may have Manu Ginobili back.
A matchup with the Utah Jazz could help them remain unbeaten.
With Ginobili possibly available, the Spurs attempt to continue their dominance of the Jazz on Saturday night after sweeping them out of the playoffs last season.

In consecutive nights, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker was given the ball on the perimeter, definitely not Parker’s strong suit, and both times Parker delivered with a late-game three-pointer to give the Spurs a chance at a win.
Tonight it was even sweeter as Parker hit the three and followed with a buzzer-beater on a midrange jumper that swished through the net as time...
Wednesday night in New Orleans wasn’t exactly scripted as planned. The San Antonio Spurs, who finished with the best record in the Western Conference last season and had their entire team back, struggled against the number one overall pick Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Hornets Wednesday, however by the end of the night, the ending result was similar to the original script...
Some would say that Tim Duncan was never a theatrical Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Maam dunker, but the advanced aged San Antionio Spurs star shows younger Oklahoma City Thunder player, Serge Ibaka, that he still has moves on Thursday night. The post Tim Duncan Dunks On Serge Ibaka (Video) appeared first on The NBA Mistress.
"Get that ish outta here"
Since there was only one game on the NBA schedule yesterday, the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs featured our dunk of the night.
Watch as San Antonio forward Tim Duncan lowers the boom on Thunder forward Serge Ibaka:
In addition to Tony Parker hitting that buzzer beater on Thursday night to lift the Spurs over the Thunder, Tim Duncan reminded you why he is still one of the best power forwards in basketball. Duncan may be a 15-year NBA vet but he can still get up. Check out his dunk on Serge [...]
The NBA season is fully underway for 2012-2013, and it's right on time for this hoops junkie. You would figure the first post of the new season would be a nasty slam dunk by some high flyer or a great defensive play, but you aren't that lucky.
San Antonio Spurs head coach Greg Popovich has got to be at the top of the list of coaches who can deliver great soundbites, and...
