As if the Celtics needed anything else to worry about with their bigs, rookie center Greg Stiemsma, who did not play the final 13 minutes on Sunday, left the Staples Center with a walking boot on his right foot, apparently a precautionary measure as he moved around the locker room without issue immediately after the game. Stiemsma endured right foot ailments while in college at Wisconsin. This is either nothing or JaJuan Johnson is now our only healthy big on the bench. Even if the Celtics don't make any trades before the deadline, expect them to bring in another big man shortly afterward.
BEST OF MAXIM
Mike Bresnahan of the LA Times has the story:
The teams talked last week about a trade for Celtics guard Rajon Rondo, though nothing was close to accomplished and discussions dried up.The Lakers are unwilling to trade Pau Gasol for Rondo, making a deal with Boston unlikely before the trade deadline Thursday."Unless they give up Gasol, they're not going to get a top...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
Yet when it counted, nobody could produce. Allen missed a 3-pointer and a jumper. Kevin Garnett missed an open jumper. Brandon Bass missed one of his customary midrange jumpers after hitting seven of his previous...
It’s been quite a while since I last composed an opinionated article on our Boston Celtics. Most of my opinions are now left for the listeners of CLNS Post/Pre Game Shows and The Celtics Late Night Show. I think our listeners receive ample share of my soap box ranting on the internet airwaves. It now [...]
Nicole Boudreau Week continues today here in The Eagle-Tribune sports pages, several hours away from her sixth career game on the famed TD Garden parquet floor.
Win or lose tonight — the Andover High girls basketball team is the favorite against Braintree in the Eastern Mass. final — my educated guess is this won’t be the last time you see her picture or...
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Los Angeles.
Who says coaches don’t matter? Doc Rivers thoroughly outcoached Vinny Del Negro in this one by going to a stable of simple yet effective plays to create the mismatches the Clippers’ defense...
Follow me on Twitter @CLNS_Sean There are stretches in an NBA season that determine the outcome of a team’s journey to the second season. For the 2012 season, this upcoming week is that stretch for the Boston Celtics. After an up and down week with a comeback victory over the Rockets, an embarrassing blowout [...]
It was a back and forth game, but in the end the Celtics came out on top after a late run helped them seal the 94-85 victory. It was the Celtics second night of a back to back, and their second straight game in the Staples Center.
Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 25 points, Kevin Garnett added 21 points. Rajon Rondo had a double double with 12 points and 10 assists. Ray Allen was...
With Chris Wilcox and Jermaine O'Neal out, the Celtics will continue to rely heavily upon Greg Stiemsma.
Check-out some pics from last-night's barfight with the Clippers. And if you weren't able to stay-up, don't worry- CSNNE is replaying the game tonight @8pm EST. Top play GIFs after the jump...

LOS ANGELES Paul Pierce opened the door at the far corner of the visitors' locker room, surveyed the phalanx of reporters camped in front of his locker and receded behind the gray metal door.
It was easy to understand why, after the Celtics handed a 97-94 victory to the Lakers, Pierce wasn't yet in much of a mood to face the uncomfortable questions that follow the decaying...
BOSTON (AP) -- Paul Pierce and Ray Allen each scored 22 points and the Boston Celtics rebounded from a lopsided loss and handed one to Portland last night, beating the Trail Blazers, 104-86.
The win came after Boston lost by 32 points at Atlantic Division-leading Philadelphia on Wednesday, its worst setback in more than six years.
Kevin Garnett grabbed seven defensive rebounds...
The Celtics played their second game in two nights out in Los Angeles, as they fought off a young athletic Lob City Clippers team who seemed more interested in posing after shots and trying to get tough with the older Celtics. The 94-85 win was paced by Paul Pierce’s 25 points.
This is the first west coast road swing I can remember that I think actually makes sense from a scheduling...
Blake Griffin reverse alley-oop on Greg Stiemsma, right on cue, in the Clippers’ home loss to the Celtics.
