Jared Sullinger is a big dude. Known for having a wide frame is fine, especially when you use it to carve out room to hit the boards like Sully does. But Sullinger has acknowledged that he does need to shed some weight before the start of the season:

Sullinger clearly added some weight while he was sidelined with a back injury, understandably so. With the first preseason game tonight and the regular season right around the corner, it's time for the weight to come off. Even if this should have happened earlier, at least Sully is aware of this, and ready to put the work in. He is one of the building blocks of this young Celtics squad.

We have been hearing since media day about Jared Sullinger and the progress he needs to make with his weight before the start of the regular season. Sullinger did indeed look heavy last night, but he also played a great first game back. Since recovering from back surgery, Sullinger has been battling to get back into basketball shape. He has admitted to the media that he would like...
AB was aggressive at the defensive end with 3 steals, and despite his 5-16 shooting, he was aggressive on the offensive side of the ball as well.
Sullinger scored 14 points off the bench in 20 minutes of work. He also had 6 rebounds.

The decision to test some things out was made way before anyone stepped on the court against Toronto this week. After all, that is what the preseason is for, right?
While the result wasn’t what anyone in Boston was hoping for, there was a lot to get excited about in Mondays loss- specifically the chemistry between Gerald Wallace, Jared Sullinger, and Celtics rookie Kelly Olynyk...
End first: After one quarter tonight in Boston, the Celtics trail the Raptors, 28-27. So far, the C's have gotten contributions from just about everybody, including Jared Sullinger, who leads them with 6 points. Rookie star Kelly Olynyk has also played well in these first twelve minutes, scoring 4 points on 1/1 shooting and 2/3 free throw shooting. It's just one quarter in...
In the Celtics' 89-97 pre-season loss to the Raptors, Gerald Wallace was the leading scorer for the Celtics with 16 points off the bench. Kelly Olynyk notched 5 assists for the C's, and Jared Sullinger lead the team in rebounds with 6.

In today's Celtics Minute, Brad Stevens once again cautions us not to read too much into his lineups in the preseason. He will be looking for combinations that work and to see what players work well with others. Keith Bogans and Jared Sullinger also share that they aren't too concerned about who plays when or where in the preseason as well. I'm sure they are just excited...
The Boston Celtics face off against the New York Knicks on Wednesday night, and I'm curious to see what changes will be made in the starting lineup. Overall, it seemed like the bench unit outplayed the starters in the game against the Raptors, so there's bound to be a few changes.
Bench players that have the chance to be tomorrow's starters:
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
Stevens finds unlikely trio in first game-A. Sherrod Blakely
Gerald Wallace, Jared Sullinger and rookie Kelly Olynyk are about as different a trio as you’ll find on this roster.
Wallace is a high-energy, athletic...
First of all, I had to wrestle with popups and installing all kinds of things to try to get a stream last night. I finally did find one where the game was archived and was able to watch the whole thing. In spite of the loss, I saw some good things and very much enjoyed watching the game. We have to remember that the Raptors, for the most part, played together last year and they...
Preseason for the Boston Celtics begin tomorrow against the opponent they ended the regular season with last year. The Toronto Raptors could be an underdog team to look out for next season. Their season ended on a 5-game winning streak, and they've made small but notable additions to their team such as Tyler Hansbrough, and Steve Novak. They have a promising center in Jonas Valanciunas...
