With all the free agency hoopla going on it's easy to forget that the Orlando Summer League is less than a week away. With 2 rookies from last year, 3 rookies from this year, along with a few other additions, the Celtics will be participating in the Vegas Summer League for the first time in several years.
The Celtics signed Jared Sullinger, Fab Melo and Kris Joseph to their rookie contracts on Tuesday and so all three should be ready to participate in Summer League. Joining them will be last year's rookies, JaJuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore. Moore will have a lot to play for in these games because the Celtics will need to decide whether to guarantee his contract for this year after Summer League is over.
Sean Williams, the 6'10" former BC center and NBA veteran signed late in the season with the idea of a summer tryout, will also travel with the team to Orlando. He played sparingly last season but showed some promise and with a Summer League and training cam...
BEST OF MAXIM
When last season opened, every prediction involving the Celtics included an addendum: "if they can stay healthy." A team dominated by three players 34 years old or older and a fourth, center Jermaine O'Neal, just past his 33rd birthday was bound to run into medical issues eventually. Injuries indeed played a factor in Boston's inability to get past the Miami Heat...
Among the uncertainties surrounding whether the Celtics will re-sign Ray Allen and Jeff Green, at least one thing isn't in question -- the coach's opinion. Doc Rivers said Sunday that he wants the C's to bring back both Allen and Green, who are free agents this offseason. He seemed to think Boston would have a pretty good chance getting both players to stay. "We...
Remember that Greg Stiemsma is a restricted free-agent. The Celtics will have the opportunity to match any offer.
Despite a talented roster that includes Kevin Love, Derrick Williams and Ricky Rubio, the Wolves are a bit thin at center.

Big Three in Boston next season.
Did Kevin Garnett just become the highest paid coach in professional basketball? Just a couple days after the Celtics wrapped up their 2012 NBA Draft, where they selected Jared Sullinger and Feb Melo with the 21st and 22nd picks, Danny Ainge announced the team was bringing back Kevin Garnett on a three-year, $34M extension. Unlike Jason Terry, it appears that Ray Allen might not be open to let his current team match whatever offer he receives. In fact there's a good possibility that Ray might accept even less to leave. Doc...
“You don’t come in second around here, you gotta come in first.”
“I want to show everybody that Boston made the right decision.”
A.B. Ballsy move by Danny Ainge that will hopefully pay off. Sullinger is a beast on the court, says all the right things & knows what he is about to become part of. As long as he keeps his back healthy, his upside could be huge.
In a wild unofficial start to free agency, former Dallas Maverick Jason Terry has agreed to a 3 year deal with the Boston Celtics, according to ESPN.
This comes a surprise to many, as it seemed like the Celtics were going to put their focus on retaining shooting guard Ray Allen. This could still happen, but it looks more unlikely now due to the fact that it would create a logjam...
