PLAYERS: Channing Frye
TEAMS: Phoenix Suns
Phoenix Suns forward Channing Frye has been dealing with a heart condition that put his career in jeopardy. The team initially said the chances were “better than not” that Frye would respond to treatment and rejoin the team, though some were left questioning if his enlarged heart meant the end of the road.Apparently not, as Frye told Bright Side of the Sun that he has been cleared to play by “numerous” doctors. He’s visited the best doctors he feels he could, and, after the clearance, the decision on when he returns is now in the Suns’ hands."I've been cleared by the numerous doctors I've seen," Frye said on Tuesday for this week's podcast. "This whole process has been extremely detail-oriented on both sides - from my side and the Suns side. We both want to do what's best. I went across country to see the best doctors I could all to make sure they all agreed that I was healthy, that I could do this."Frye still says that his health is his top priority. Still, following the positive exams, Frye believes he’s 100-percent healthy. He is willing to be patient and give the Suns time to go through the steps they need to before he rejoins the team."Right now I'm excited, but still patient in giving the Suns the information and letting their people go through it. As far as I'm concerned, I'm 100% healthy for any professional athlete. Right now I think it's just, let [the Suns] assess the information and go from there."Frye also said that he’s been exercising for two months now, adding that his heart is better than ever. It’s good news for the big man, and it looks like he should be back with the team for the 2013-14 season.Follow @hoopsinjurynews
