solpatrolThings aren’t going great for the Phoenix Suns these days.

They’re in 10th place in the Western Conference, they’ve lost three straight games, and the talk surrounding the team has to do with the possibility of trading veteran leaders Steve Nash and Grant Hill.

On Wednesday, things weren’t exactly cheery at U.S. Airways Center, as the Suns were dropping a game to a mediocre Eastern Conference opponent to pull their 2010-11 home record down to 11-10.

But there was a highlight.

A member of the Suns’ Sol Patrol, Nick Corrales, during the Suns’ patented end of third quarter routine in which the Sol Patrol and The Gorilla perform acrobatic dunks off of a trampoline, accomplished a first. He dunked himself.

That’s right, Corrales had a little too much momentum, and dunked himself all the way through the hoop, getting out just in time for the next dunker to complete his turn.

The most amazing part of the whole thing, is that a description of the event showed up in the Associated Press write-up of the game under the notes section.

Hey, we’ll take a highlight any way we can get one.
