Beyond The Buzzer:
But even after the Suns fell to 12-25 following an 87-79 loss to the Celtics on Wednesday, Gortat said he is not looking to force his way off his struggling team.
Basically I just don’t want to feel like a loser and escape,” he told CSNNE.com. “The team needs you and then all of a sudden you escape because you said you wanted to be traded or you asked for a trade? It’s not like that.
“Right now I feel like it’s hard to leave this sinking boat, you know what I mean, just go to a different team and escape from everything,” he said. “I started with this team in training camp. I’ve been here for three years right now. This is my third year and basically I’m trying to help this team, help this team as much as I can. That’s the main goal, but I learned also that this is business. Whatever’s going to happen is going to happen.”

Now here's something you don't see every day: Phoenix Suns center Jermaine O'Neal put his shot up - and it never came down.
The ball came to rest on the back of the rim, causing a stoppage of play and resulting in a jump ball, during the second quarter of Tuesday night's NBA game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Would be curious as to what the odds are of that...
Diante Garrett has appeared in six games for the Suns this season, scoring five points and seven assists in 30 minutes.
The Suns have long been associated with the "Seven Seconds or Less" offense that Mike D'Antoni brought in when he was hired as head coach. That has become synonymous with the Suns.
Since D'Antoni was let go, there have been several coaches trying to bring a different tact and add a little defense to the team to get them over the top. It worked to some extent in...
It's great seeing all the love for Avery and Sully. I just hope Danny doesn't make another blooper and trade away a key member of this team just as they are pulling it all together. The comment about KG playing better mad like the Hulk and the comment about a Suns player dating Rihanna both cracked me up. Finally the Celtics win 4 in a row! Good stuff! I'...
On the one-year anniversary of his heart surgery, Jeff Green delighted Boston’s TD Banknorth Garden as he put on an individual slam-dunkathon against the Phoenix Suns. Inevitably, Jermaine O’Neal tried to get in his way. Jermaine, who’s been getting mashed on with increasing regularity since the late ’90s, was yet to appear on the wrong side of a poster this season, so...
The funny thing about this game is all the praise that the Celtics bench got. They actually outscored the starters for maybe the first time all year. Yet looking at the Suns fans comments, it seems like this has been happening all season. I guess their bench is just horrible. We'll have to see if the Celtics bench can consistently have games like this.

With an ugly win over Phoenix last night, the Celtics are now back above .500. I expected this to happen. The Celtics won't go down. They didn't have a huge scorer last night, but I guess you could give that honor to Terry or Green.
Today's USOTN goes to the 12 steals recorded by the Celtics. The Celtics average just 8.7 steals per game, but seemed to just dominate...
In defeating the Phoenix Suns last night, 87-79, and earning the team's fourth straight win, the C's got their mojo from the bench. Sully (12 pts., 16 rebs., 3 asts., 1 stl., 1 blk.), Jeff Green (14 pts., 3 rebs., 1 stl., 1 blk.) and JET (13 pts., 5 rebs., 5 asts., 1 stl.) led the charge and successfully fended off the Suns' rally attempts in the 4th quarter. They...
The Celtics kept the streak going, winning their fourth straight by beating the Phoenix Suns 87-79.
This game almost seemed to be heading in the same direction as the previous game against the Knicks in terms of physicality with Rondo getting into it with former Boston College star Jared Dudley. The two were bumping and shoving off each other as Rondo tried to receive an inbound...
Getting around PJ Tucker allowed Pierce to get a game-icing assist Wednesday night. After spending much of the fourth quarter trailing by double digits last night, the Suns were starting to make a game out of a semi-blowout. Luis Scola had been fouled on consecutive possessions and converted three free throws, and the Celtics’ offense had been lackadaisical and seemingly uninterested...
Tuesday night during the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks game, the 34-year-old Jermaine O’Neal managed to get the ball stuck on the rim on a layup-attempt. If you purposefully try this shot 100 times, you won’t manage to get the ball stuck like this once. It only happens when you don’t try to do it.
The Brooklyn Nets dropped their final five home games to the Phoenix Suns when they were based in New Jersey, but that streak seems poised to end.
The Nets can match a season high with their fifth straight win Friday night when they look to hand the Suns a fifth straight defeat and 12th in a row on the road.
Phoenix (12-25) has taken the last five road matchups in this series heading...
7:21: The Celtics are riding high with 3 consecutive wins. Tonight, they will host the struggling Phoenix Suns. The Suns are just 2-15 on the road, while the C's are 10-6 at home. Rondo will return tonight. Keep checking here after each quarter for more updates.
