Found January 30, 2012 on Red's Army:
After every game, we'll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player's overall value. Starters Avery Bradley:  His D wasn't nearly what it was in the last Orlando game, and the 5 turnovers (a couple of them were really bad) were a problem.  And if E'Twaun Moore is going to play like he did last night, Avery... defense and all... will lose minutes. Paul Pierce:  He had a stretch where he was just awesome.  But he also had 7 turnovers in the game.  Kevin Garnett:  Not a bad night for KG.  14 and 7 is ok for him.  But I thought he was on his way to a 20-10 night the way he started out.     Brandon Bass:  I don't know if I'm being hard on everyone because I still have that sour taste in my mouth, but Bass had an OK but not great game.  His production in the books wasn't bad, but I just thought he could have been a difference-maker with some energy that was clea...

Is Brandon Bass' Play the Most Pleasant Surprise for the Celtics This Season?

Paul Pierce was too old and too fragile two weeks ago. Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge even floated the possibility of trading the 14-year veteran. Pierce has played with newfound furor since then, averaging 24.5 points over the last five games while regularly posting double-digit totals in rebounds and assists. It's a surprising development for a soon...

Celtics Live Blog: Paul Pierce, C's Seek Revenge Against Cavaliers in Cleveland

8 a.m.: After giving up 12 unanswered points to close out Sunday's loss, the Celtics travel to Cleveland looking for a measure of revenge against the Cavs. Ray Allen is expected to make his second start since returning from an ankle injury, and although Paul Pierce was upset over his playing time in the fourth quarter Sunday, he gave no indication that his unhappiness would carry...

Comments From the Other Side - Cavs 1/29

Not a lot of Cavs fans were chatting last night during the game.   It's definitely not as much fun to gather these comments when we lose, especially when we lose the way we did last night.   This comment about Paul Pierce was my favorite:  "I use to hate him for spitting at LeBum in his rookie year but damn he did the right thing lol.."   Still a lot of bitterness...

Cavs' comeback falls short in loss to Celtics

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Paul Pierce scored 20 points, Ray Allen had 12 in the third quarter and the Boston Celtics avenged a disappointing loss to Cleveland two days ago by barely holding off the Cavaliers 93-90 on Tuesday night. The Celtics, who blew an 11-point lead at home Sunday in the final four minutes and lost by one, led by 22 late in the third quarter. However, the Cavs rallied...

Rumors of the Celtics Demise are Greatly Exaggerated

I know this blog has been overly Celtics heavy of late; but they just keep doing such surprising things, so I don’t really have a choice.  The two spectacular victories over Orlando, combined with Friday night’s win against Indiana, puts Boston in the midst of one of the most unexpected winning streaks in a long time.  There were two things that were supposed to be major issues...

Ray Allen's big third gets Celtics by Cavaliers

Comments From the Other Side - Cavs 1/31

We almost had another big lead lost loss, but thankfully the Celtics pulled it out this time. The Cavs fans aren't a very chatty bunch compared to others and I think criticize their own players as much as they do the other team but they definitely don't like the Celtics. They are even willing to derail their tanking to beat them.  I'd love to have Varejao. though, he...

Starting 5: Comebacks, Kobe Gets Another Notch, & LeBron Jumps Over A Dude

Every morning, we'll give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day. 1:  Comebacks!  Including two in the same game. Brandon Bass stepped to the line with 4:24 left in the Celtics-Cavaliers game and sank the first of two free throws to give Boston an 87-76 lead.   The Celtics would not score again.  The Cavs, however, did.  12 more times, in...

Cavaliers Come Back Strong In Fourth Beat Celtics 88-87

(AP Photo/Michael Dwyer) The Boston Celtics with 4:24 left to play in their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at the “New Garden” on Sunday, appeared poised to win their fifth consecutive game after Brandon Bass split a pair at the line giving them an 87-76 advantage. Those would be the final points scored by the home team and it turned out they would not be enough as the...
