Found January 15, 2012 on Red's Army:
After every game, we'll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player's overall value. Starters Paul Pierce:  The 21 points were great, the 6 turnovers were not, neither was the 5-12 shooting.  But he was drawing fouls and he he was producing more than he has been.  On a back-to-back night, there's something to be said for that. Rajon Rondo:  Rondo spent 41 minutes bouncing off Chicago defenders, hitting the floor, and generally getting beaten to hell a couple of nights ago.  Today he's getting heat for not doing it again?   He was ridden hard less than 24 hours before, so I'm cutting him some slack.  He still had 9 assists and he should have had a few more. Ray Allen: Same goes for Ray.  It's no shock that both guys who played 40+ minutes the night before were quiet the next.  Kevin Garnett:  Much better night for KG who took 19 shots, making 10 and scoring 21 points.  That's enough to end the stretch of red arrows in thi...

Paul Pierce As The Sixth Man?

A lot of different ideas have been thrown around over the past week, most of them have been trade ideas. Another idea that's starting to pick up speed is moving Paul Pierce, one of the Celtics greatest scorers ever, to the bench. Sounds crazy, huh? Well not so fast. Let's say that the new Celtics starting lineup is as follows: PG- Rajon Rondo SG- Ray Allen SF- Mickael...

Woj: Several teams have asked about Pierce

Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski says GM's are calling Danny Ainge and asking about Paul Pierce: As Kevin Garnett and Allen become free agents this summer, money will peel away from the salary cap. Between then and now, the bigger question promises to be: Does ownership and general manager Danny Ainge go for the complete rebuild and trade Pierce before the March 15 deadline...

Chicago Bulls vs Boston Celtics: looking back and glancing forward…

No NBA fan is going to forget the duel between Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo in the 2009 NBA playoffs. The Celtics were the reigning NBA champions and team to beat in the NBA. The staggering Celtics’ defense was led by Associate Head Coach and defensive specialist, Tom Thibodeau. For several seasons, Celtics’ opponents were [...]

Celtics lose to Thunder in Perk's Return 97-88

The Celtics lost their fifth straight game to the Thunder tonight 97-88. It was Kendrick Perkins first return to the Garden since being traded last February. Boston had made the game close in the second half, however in the end they could not finish the deal. Paul Pierce led the team with 24 points. Rajon Rondo had 12 points and nine assists. The Thunder were led by, no big surprise...

Celtics Live Blog: Rajon Rondo, C's Travel to Indiana Seeking to Snap Three-Game Skid

8 a.m.: The Celtics take another crack at snapping out of their recent funk when they visit the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. While this would probably be a sparsely attended game if it were held in Boston, where fans will be glued to their couches flipping between the Patriots, Bruins and Celtics, the Hoosier State can devote its full attention to its Pacers. At 8-3, Indiana is second...

Thoughts I thought – Celtics comeback falls short… again

Loul Deng and the Bulls got the better of Rajon Rondo and the Celtics tonight in Boston Some thoughts I thought while I watched the Celtics nearly pull another game out of their asses, but secretly knowing they wouldn’t This is starting to become a trend. Celtics look sloppy in the first half, Celtics find some fire in the second half, Celtics make run, Celtics come up short when...

Celtics bow to Pacers

INDIANAPOLIS - Truly, there are signs of progress. The Celtics are improving. They are getting into better shape. Paul Pierce is regaining his toughness and confidence. Kevin Garnett’s spinning jumper is falling.

Indiana Pacers 97, Boston Celtics 83

Celtics Live Blog: Rajon Rondo Takes On Derrick Rose, Bulls in Battle of Elite Point Guards

7:45 p.m.: This is not the game to expect the Celtics to finally break out of their rebounding funk. The Celtics, who allowed 17 second-chance points to the Mavericks on Wednesday and are second-to-last in the NBA in overall rebounding, take on the best team in the league at keeping opponents off the glass. That's right. Bulls opponents average just 37.8 rebounds per game, the...

Applause for Perkins

Early in last night’s game, the Celtics’ Rajon Rondo drove to the basket, and Thunder center Kendrick Perkins flattened the speedy point guard.
