After every game, we'll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player's overall value. Starters Avery Bradley: Despite Doc's claims that Avery was "terrific for us," I can't overlook the 1-8 FG and 6 TOs. The 7 assists and 5 rebounds make his performance a push. Paul Pierce:  Best game of the year. He gave the game what it needed, and that included dominating in the 4th.    Ray Allen:  Played only 11 minutes because of the jammed ankle.    Kevin Garnett:  17 points on 7-10 FG. KG cannot be more efficient than that. Jermaine O'Neal:  3 rebounds in 27 minutes? Unfortunately, JO is what he is. Bench  Brandon Bass: A season high 35 minutes. Production was solid: 13 points and 9 rebounds. Mickael Pietrus: Also played a season high 35 minutes. Continues to bring punch on offensive (14 points) and defense (2 steals). Marqui...

Paul Pierce had season highs with 34 points and 10 assists and tied his season-best mark with eight rebounds to lead the Boston Celtics to a 100-94 victory over the Washington Wizards on Sunday. The Celtics won for the second time in three games despite playing most of the game without a pair of starting guards.

Celtics minus Allen and Rondo; 3 bench players

The Boston Celtics will be without starters Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo and three bench players, severely depleting their roster for Monday night's game against the Orlando Magic. Boston coach Doc Rivers delivered the news about an hour before the game. Allen jammed his left ankle in the second quarter of Sunday's win at Washington and didn't return. Starting point guard...

Allen nursing an ankle injury

WASHINGTON - The good news for the Celtics after yesterday’s 100-94 win over the Wizards was that Ray Allen sported an immaculately shined wingtip shoe on his left foot instead of a walking boot.

Shorthanded Boston Celtics Trick Orlando Magic, Win 87-56

Going into tonight’s game between the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic at the TD Garden, the odds were not in favor of the Celtics. The Magic came into the game with a record of 11-4, while the Celtics were at a disappointing 6-9. Add to that the news before the game that Ray Allen, Rajon [...]

Celtics Defeat Wizards 100-94

Today the 5-9 Boston Celtics faced off against the 2-13 Washington Wizards, after having lost their last game at home against the Phoenix Suns. The Celtics were looking to start the game off with a positive note because as everyone knows, the Celtics usually win or lose the game in the first half. The Celtics have only been tied or ahead three times this season at the half. Their...

Celtics Live Blog: Paul Pierce, C's Open Home-and-Home With Magic at TD Garden

8:20 a.m.: With Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen's status questionable, the Celtics get their first look this season at the team Dwight Howard doesn't want to play for anymore. The Orlando Magic come to town to begin a home-and-home set against the Celtics, who could be without their starting backcourt. Rondo missed the last two games with a strained wrist and Allen left Sunday...

Taking Stock: Celtics - Suns

After every game, we'll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player's overall value. Starters Avery Bradley: More good than bad for Avery last night.  The D on Nash was solid, he finished at the rim and he was 3-6 from 16-23 feet.  As much as I get on the guy for his long range inaccuracy, 50% from that distance is pretty good.  Here'...

Day 29 of 124: Washington Can’t Handle The Truth

“The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.” - Winston Churchill No Rajon Rondo (wrist), no Ray Allen (sprained ankle), No problem! Paul “The Truth” Pierce (2.84) was there to explode for our Line of the Night. He did do it against the lowly Washington Wizards, but hey, the man virtually...

Ray Allen, Mickael Pietrus out against Orlando Magic

Sasha Pavlovic! Avery Bradley! I’m genuinely excited and not even being sarcastic!

Last Night I Went to the Craziest NBA Game I Have Ever Seen

Orlando was 11-4 and heading to Boston with two days rest.  The 6-9 Celtics had just played in Washington the day before.  They were also missing Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen, as well as BOTH their back-ups, Keyon Dooling and Mickael Pietrus.  Everything was pointing towards an easy Magic victory; which made what unfolded before my eyes last night all the more shocking. With 2:53...
