Found November 10, 2013 on Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
I was stuck with the Heat announcers last night. It was almost unbearable to hear them fawning all over Wade and LeBron. I really would have loved to hear Tommy as the Heat amassed a 34-12 free throw disparity. I settled for muting the TV and listening to Grande and Max about 10 seconds behind. But Tommy's tweets were a lot of fun. I can imagine that he was grinning the whole game as the Celtics ran and played uptempo throughout. Here are some of the best of Tommy's tweets from last night's game. "Lebron's a great, great player. If you can hold him to his average, you're doing a great job ... Need a guy like Jeff Green to defend him" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) November 10, 2013 And the combination of Green and Wallace did a very good job on him defensively. He finished with 25 points but very few of those were easy. "Humphries ready to play, coming off the bench after not playing that much, that's great stuff!!!" 7 points in 7 minutes, +10 — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) November 10, 2013 I have to admit that I never liked Kris Humphries as a Net, but he's grown on me as a Celtic. The guy's a professional. He hasn't complained about his lack of playing time, but instead, he has stayed ready and has contributed every time he gets on the court. You have to love a guy like that. On Crawford's & Pressey's play against #Heat: "Both of them came in & played very, very good point guard ... Imagine what Rondo could do!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) November 10, 2013 As well as Jordan Crawford and Phil Pressey have been playing at the point, we might lose sight of the fact that the Celtics still have one of the best point guards in the league waiting in the wings to be okayed to play. And, I can imagine that Rondo is chomping at the bit to get out there with this young stable of stallions who are ready and able to run with him. "Olynyk's getting an education, which is very important, playing center in his defense ... He's doing a decent job!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) November 10, 2013 This season is about the growth of the young guys more than anything. Kelly Olynyk is growing more game by game. He is learning to play center and doing a decent job of it. But all the tools are there for him to be a very, very good player. On Brad Stevens' poise in leading #Celtics: "He talks right to the players, softly. Nice and calm. Not like me." — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) November 10, 2013 Tommy was far from calm on the sidelines. One game he even kicked his shoe into the stands. He definitely had anger issues on the sidelines. But I loved Tommy as a coach. I really like Brad Stevens as well. For a young team, he's just what they need. He's giving this team poise. And, his last second play last night wasn't too bad either. On Wallace to Green for game-winner: "That pass had to get over the top of a 6'11 guy who was jumping & waving his arms... It was perfect." — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) November 10, 2013 Jeff Green's shot was incredible last night. But, don't forget how incredible that pass by Gerald Wallace was, either. He had to time it perfectly as the play developed. He had to wait for Crawford to run to the top of the key and for Kelly to set the screen and to make sure that he didn't get called for holding it too long. And he had to make sure that it went across court, over the defenders and land right in Green's hands so that he could catch and shoot. Not many players could have done it that perfectly. I salute Gerald Wallace for that play. And the Tommy Award goes to.... "He goes to the hoop, baby! People kind of move away! Let him go!" With game-winner, 24 pts, Jeff Green wins the #TommyAward! #CelticsTalk — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) November 10, 2013 [Discuss on CG Forums!]
