Paul Pierce buried the Knicks. Again.
Click here for Part 1 from Saturday and Sunday's Part 2. I never intended to write more than one of these, but each consecutive victory has been more impressive than the last. The New York Knicks we're just half a game behind Miami for the top spot in the East, and boasted a 13-3 home record. The Celtics were missing their point guard and best player, Rajon Rondo. Yet somehow the C's still emerged with a 102-96 win at MSG. Both starting guards (5 assists each for Avery Bradley and Jason Terry) and the point forward (6 dimes for Paul Pierce) filled in admirably in Rondo's absence, and Boston "out-assisted" the Knicks 26-19.
The pressure Avery Bradley brings on defense was apparent right from the start, as he made Jason Kidd look old and slow by stripping the ball from him a minute into the game. The Celtics held "MVP candidate" Carmelo Anthony to a season worst 6-26 from the floor. For the second s...
BEST OF MAXIM
After hitting a big shot that would lead to a Boston Celtics 102-96 victory, Celtics forward Paul Pierce decided to do a little bit of taunting towards Knicks fans at Madison Square Garden.Watch as he blows one single kiss to the crowd while back-pedaling:(Courtesy of Pass the Pill)
Maybe the greatest win of the season so far? I haven't really had a lot of ill will against the Knicks, but maybe that's because the Celtics always beat the Knicks. Reading through the comments, it's pretty evident that that's why. The Knicks fans hate the Celtics. It's great to see how much they fear Paul Pierce. It seems like Pierce always has great games at...
Knicks fans have to be the most classless in the league. They even have the Lakers and Heat fans beat for having the least class in the league. They even beat the Nets fans even though they are now in the same city. Any time you see fans wishing death or injury on a player, all class has left the building. They really had no room to complain about the officials either...
"I'm coming for ya Ray."
Paul Pierce is number 23 on the NBA's all-time scoring list. Ray Allen is number 22. Pierce has been creeping up on Allen all season, and his 23 points in Monday's victory at New York gave the Captain 23,268 for his career. Meanwhile Ray went scoreless (0-5 from the field, 0-4 on threes) in Miami's loss to Indiana last night...
Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce blew a kiss to New York Knicks fans at Madison Square Garden after hitting a 21-footer to seal the win for the Celtics.
The basket by Pierce gave the Celtics a 6 point lead with 45 seconds left and put the game out of reach. Pierce led the Celtics in scoring during Monday night's 102-96 victory over the Knicks.
Paul Pierce scored 23 points, and the Boston Celtics beat the New York Knicks 102-96 on Monday night in a heated first meeting of the season between the Atlantic Division rivals.
Kevin Garnett added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics, who even without the suspended Rajon Rondo won their third straight and finally are playing like the team that has ruled the division for the...
We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from New York.
Paul Pierce is this generations Reggie Miller for us Knicks fans. Tonight, watching this game, I thought the intensity was great. The fight and passion was fun to see and both teams wanted this game badly. It is so difficult to...
10 a.m. ET: If the Celtics can take care of business, their current three-game win streak could be the start of something big. After wiping out Eastern Conference playoff contenders Indiana, Atlanta and New York in a matter of days, the Celtics open a five-game home stand against some decidedly easier competition on Wednesday.
First up is the Phoenix Suns (12-24), who have the second...

In a playoff-esque atmosphere, Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics (17-17) secure their first three-game winning streak of the 2012-13 season in result of a 102-96 victory over the New York Knicks (23-11).
If you missed some of the Atlantic Division match-up due to the tedious BCS National Championship, here is my analysis from the Broadway Showdown.
Tremendous collective effort by...
One of the few items missing from Paul Pierce‘s repertoire is the lack of a trademark celebratory gesture. In more than 14 years in the NBA, Pierce has offered little along the lines of Jason Terry‘s “Jet” flight or Kevin Garnett‘s vicious chest-pound. He has nothing as subtle as LeBron James‘ superhero pose or as unconcealed as Russell Westbrook‘s primal yell. Whenever...
After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value.
Offense: Defense: Overall:
Kind of a blah effort from Rondo for most of the night. He looked aggressive early, and he had spurts of energy, but overall, not much to speak of. He had more energy directing the defense from the bench...
On Monday night the Celtics faced the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden. This was the teams first meeting of the year and was certainly going to be one of their toughest tests are the Knicks hold one of the best records in the NBA. Prior to the game bad news hit Celtic nation as the league suspended Rajon Rondo for one game after making contact with a referee in their last...
Wow. After Rondo’s suspension this afternoon expectations were low for tonight, but the Celtics came together and won what turned out to be a thrilling game. There wasn’t a single Celtic that didn’t contribute tonight, and the C’s emerged victorious in a game where toughness and composure proved to be the difference. Lets get to the bullet points:Paul Pierce found himself...
