Found December 21, 2011 on Celtics Life:
With Paul Pierce still out due to his Achilles injury The Celtics rolled with Sasha Pavlovic in the starting lineup. If Paul is going to miss the season opener against New York I'd expect to see the same move. Judging from everything Doc has said Marquis is too valuable off the bench to screw up any chemistry that has actually formed, as little as that might be. The Celtics started off on a strong 6-0 run and looked great on both sides of the court. Pavlovic had two nice defensive plays in a row, one he angled his man of and contested a shot at the basket, on the other he jumped the passing lane and got a fast break dunk. Sasha isn't going to be a great bench player, but if you need a spot starter he could definitely contribute. Jermaine and Rondo also both looked great. 2 blocks from O'Neal, 2 jumpers from Rajon. I'd hate to jinx it but if J.O. can just stay healthy he really only has to block shots and convert open lay ups. Brandon Bass was the first man off ...

Your Morning Dump... Where Pierce could miss the opener

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Is he worried about the Knicks game for Pierce? “I’m concerned now,” Rivers said. “For after that, I’m not that concerned, but for the 25th, yeah, I’m concerned about it.” Pierce stayed...

Pierce may miss opener against Knicks

Celtics guard Paul Pierce didn't practice because of a nagging heel injury and might not play in Boston's season opener against the Knicks in New York on Christmas Day. Pierce did shoot around after Friday's practice, but coach Doc Rivers said ''I still think it's doubtful'' he'll play Sunday, when the Celtics and Knicks are playing one of the...

Pierce doubtful for Christmas

Via the Globe's Gary Washburn: Doc Rivers said he thinks its "doubtful" Paul Pierce will play Christmas Day vs. Knicks #celtics That's not the best news in the world, but it will be really funny when the Celtics beat the Knicks without him and people freak out about the Knicks being overrated.

Sasha Pavlovic will probably start Sunday

Have a seat.  Grab a drink.  Relax.  How you feeling?  Good?  Good.  You look good.   Is that a new sweater?  It really looks nice on you.  Probably because you've been working out. Oh, hey, you know that thing we're doing on Sunday?  The Celtics thing?  Yeah... about that... it's going to involve a lot more Sasha Pavolovic than we thought. "...

Celtics vs. Raptors: Boston’s preseason slate continues (and ends) tonight

Paul Pierce will sit to rest his bruised heel, but professional basketball nonetheless returns to the TD Garden tonight at 7:30 p.m. A few things to watch:Sasha Pavlovic’s debut:The thought of relying on Pavlovic (even slightly) makes me contemplate whether to stick my head into a blazing bonfire. He’s been one of the NBA’s very worst players during  each of the past four...

Paul Pierce ruled out for final preseason game

Paul Pierce is apparently still suffering from a right heel injury that first acted up at the beginning of training camp and he won't play in the Celtics' final preseason game against Toronto on Wednesday. Doc Rivers commented on Pierce's injury."I'm concerned," Doc Rivers said on Tuesday. "I'm not concerned long-term, but I am concerned short...

Doc Rivers doesn’t expect Paul Pierce to play on Christmas

We’re a long way away from the Chicken Little “the sky is falling” predictions about the Celtics season coming true, but this isn’t a good start. Paul Pierce didn’t practice on Friday and Doc Rivers sounded less than optimistic he would be able to go in the Celtics season opener Sunday against the Knicks, reports…

Being realistic doesn't make you a bad fan

"These guys are bad fans" I want to start off by saying that upon second review, my Potomac River video could have been a lot better and maybe I did deserve to capsize (great comment).  My mom gave me crap for it last  night and I completely agree with her. I promise to do better. If anyone is in the DC area and wants to come out on the river and discuss the...
