In case you haven’t noticed, I’m very interested in Rajon Rondo’s streak of consecutive games with 10 or more assists, which now stands at 28 (the 4th longest in NBA history). While sitting in the Garden Wednesday night and paying very close attention to Rondo’s assist count, I had an epiphany of sorts.
There were at least 3 or 4 plays where Rondo found a teammate wide open at the hoop, but missed out on an assist due to a foul on the layup attempt. A player shouldn’t lose a potential assist just because the guy he passes to gets fouled. If the shooter hits the free throws and the points still go one the board, why doesn’t the passer still get the credit? Or if one of two foul shots are made, there could be half an assist awarded.
The scene pictured is a perfect example. Kevin Garnett got shoved, then went to the line and knocked down a pair. But Rondo’s pass is forgotten in the box score.

Okay. There is quite a bit more to this story but I love when Rajon Rondo talks trash, especially agains The Boston Celtics point guard sat down with Mut and Merloni of WEEI and discussed a variety of topics. Rondo talked about the Celtics slow start and the new guys getting acclimated. Rondo also discusses his [...]

PG: Rajon Rondo- Boston Celtics- 2012-13 Salary: 11 million
Yes Rondo has by far the highest salary on this list, but he is one of the most underpaid players in the NBA as he is worth at least 15 million annually. He is one of the league’s best players and is the top distributor in the NBA. He is also the best defensive point guard in the NBA and he...
As you may figure, I wasn't a math major in college and the subject itself isn't exactly the simplest to teach to others, so I was a little impressed when I came across this story.Yesterday, Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo tweeted the below photo of himself teaching algebra at Burke High School in the Dorchester section of Boston:Rondo might have been the best passing substitute...
We’ve all heard billions of times about Kevin Garnett’s obscene plus-minus numbers. And the Boston Celtics’ trend of deteriorating with KG on the court is continuing this season. After last night’s loss, Rajon Rondo explained what happens whenever Garnett moves to the bench. (Hint: Hide yo’ kids, hide yo’ wife, close your eyes and take a shot of Jameson.) (Boston Herald...
After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value.
Rajon Rondo: Rack up another double-double for Rondo. Among the really positives: Rondo shot 3-4 from the line with the game hanging in the balance. That’s a monumental step. Also, his clutch baskets came in the form of jumpers. I can appreciate the...
4 p.m. ET: Already, the Celtics are thinking about getting their record back to .500.
It might seem a little early in the season to focus on something that will not matter for another few months, but the Celtics cannot afford to slip farther back in the season’s opening month. The Knicks have looked like a legitimate contender for the Atlantic Division crown (at least so far),...
In a game devoid of cohesive and consistent offense, the Celtics trail 42-37 at the half. Kevin Garnett has seven points and 10 boards while Rajon Rondo has eight points and five assists. Rondo, who is halfway to his 28th straight double-digit assist game, has been as creative as ever tonight with several dazzling behind-the-back [...]
The Celtics mantra has and always will be "we got to grind it out." they have no choice, given how their season is going. It all boils down to trust and learning how to play in a different way.
Last year's role players were great defenders, but couldn't find the hoop when it mattered. That anemic Game Seven in the Eastern Conference Finals was oh so painful...
That Rajon Rondo is pretty confident!
This was a pretty funny topic brought up in both the WEEI interviews today with Doc Rivers and Rajon Rondo.
Doc brought up that one time Usain Bolt came into the Celtics locker room and he recalled Rondo and Bolt talking about who was the fastest.
When Rondo went on the radio later that day, they asked him about who would win in a race.
Like us on Facebook Celtics Daily Links for Friday, November 9 CLNS Radio Rajon Rondo says he can beat LeBron James in a race Nick Gelso weighs in on Rondo’s recent interview in which he said that he can beat Usain Bolt in a race, especially while dribbling. Rondo also said that he could beat [...]
I’d like to start this post out by saying thank you to everyone for the great feedback on “Fan Friday”. I had a blast last season meeting, & in some cases, getting to know alot of very cool people. CelticsNation is spread out all over the world. It is truly a blessing that through the wonders of social media and the internet I now communicate with 1000′s of C’s fans...
We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Philadelphia.
So maybe it’s true that those who don’t remember history are doomed to repeat it. After all, the loss to the veteran Celtics in the playoffs last season still remains fresh in the minds of the Sixers. And when Kevin Garnett...
The Celtics snuck past the Wizards 100-94 in overtime Wednesday night at the TD Garden. It was their second win over Washington in five days. Kevin Garnett led the team with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Rajon Rondo was right behind with 18 points and 14 assists. The team returns to action Friday night when they host the 76ers.
Celtics win over the Wizards not much to be proud...
The Celtics swept their home-and-home series against the Washington Wizards. Boston needed overtime to best the opposition on their home floor, but survived by a score of 100-94.
Brandon Bass tallied five big points in overtime, giving the Celtics an 97-92 lead. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce iced the the game with free throws.
Bass was on the court for most of the end of regulation...
